A la convulsa temporada del Barcelona sólo le faltaba un episodio de rebeldía. Lo ha protagonizado el prometedor canterano Dame Sarr, que no estará en el Clásico de este domingo después de haber marchado a Estados Unidos sin permiso del club para disputar el prestigioso Nike Hoops Summit entre el 6 y el 12 de abril.
La entidad azulgrana ha informado este sábado de este suceso protagonizado por el joven italiano de 18 años. “Durante el mes de noviembre, el jugador solicitó el permiso para ausentarse y disputar ese partido amistoso. En ese momento, el club estuvo abierto a escuchar la petición. Esta petición fue denegada y así se ha comunicado al jugador y a sus representantes en las últimas dos semanas, dado que Dame Sarr se ha convertido en un jugador importante del equipo”, cuenta el Barça en un comunicado.
Y es que el crecimiento de Sarr ha sido muy destacable en las últimas semanas realizando grandes actuaciones incluso en la Euroliga, como en la derrota ante el Armani Milán, en la que batió sus topes en puntos, con 13, y valoración, con 16.
“Pese a la negativa expresa del club, el jugador ha decidido, unilateralmente, desobedecer esta decisión, comunicando este viernes por la noche que viajará por cuenta propia para participar en el evento. Esta actitud representa un incumplimiento directo de sus obligaciones como jugador del FC Barcelona”, continúa explicando la entidad azulgrana, que destaca la inversión realizada en el joven. Ahora, se reserva “el derecho de defender sus intereses por las vías que considere oportunas”.
El futuro de Sarr ya apuntaba lejos del Barcelona la próxima temporada. La NCAA parecía su destino más probable, pues se le vincula con la Universidad de Illinois. Sin embargo, en las últimas fechas había crecido la opción de que se presentara al próximo draft de la NBA. De hecho, mostrarse en el Nike Hoops Summit, entre algunos de los mejores jóvenes del mundo, podría ser parte de ese plan.
