The 2025 free agency has brought us a few interesting storylines-Brock Purdy’s contract, Micah Parsons’ deal, and perhaps the most dramatic of all: the future of Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is a regular character in these kinds of sagas, much like he was back in 2023.
A couple of years ago, after leaving the Green Bay Packers and hinting at retirement, Rodgers waited until just days before the Draft to announce that he would play for the New York Jets. Now, the story could repeat itself, and Rodgers may announce where he’ll play in the 2025 season this very week.

It’s no secret that Aaron Rodgers is a regular on Pat McAfee’s podcast. The veteran quarterback frequently appears on the show, sharing his thoughts on various topics. While some see this positively, others believe it led to conflict-especially toward the end of his time with the New York Jets.
This week, McAfee is hosting an event in Pittsburgh called “Big Night Aht With Pat McAfee and Friends.” The event is sold out, and there’s a fan theory among Steelers supporters that Aaron Rodgers will sign with Pittsburgh during the show.
Rodgers, known for his flair for the dramatic and his love of the spotlight, is no stranger to “The Pat McAfee Show.” Considering his taste for controversy and theatrical storylines, this theory might not be that far off. The saga could finally reach its conclusion this week.

Despite all the rumors surrounding the moment, McAfee has tried to shut them down. But the reality is-no one believes him. Rodgers was even seen training with DK Metcalf, the Steelers’ new wide receiver.
“That’s crazy. It’s funny to think about,” McAfee said. “I appreciate that people think it’s possible.”

A few days ago, “Big Ben”, Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger, said he believes Rodgers is only using the Steelers as a smokescreen to eventually sign with the Minnesota Vikings. So Rodgers remains a complete mystery, but the theory that he could sign with the Steelers on Wednesday doesn’t seem so far-fetched.
