Angel Reese is making waves well before the 2025 WNBA season tips off. The Chicago Sky star forward recently showcased her dramatic body transformation, sending a bold signal to opponents that she’s leveled up her game physically.

Known for her grit on the court, Reese is showing that her work ethic off it is just as relentless. The 21-year-old posted a workout clip on Instagram that captured her grinding through an intense gym session.

Drenched in sweat and dressed in blue shorts and a white tee, she powered through dumbbell bench squats in her Reebok gear. But it was her defined abs that stole the spotlight.

“You see the abs okayyyy,” Reese wrote, proudly reposting the video from her trainer.

The fitness update follows a busy offseason that saw Reese compete in the Unrivaled league, where her team went on to win the inaugural title.

Although she exited before the semifinals due to a hand injury, the Miami-based event provided valuable on-court time and mentorship from WNBA legends like Lisa Leslie, who helped Reese elevate her post moves and offensive confidence.

Angel Reese shows off powerful physical transformation as Caitlin Clark gets scarier after gaining muscle

A new-look Reese eyes a breakout season

With the Sky banking on a breakout campaign in 2025, Reese‘s development could be the key. She’ll be joined by new teammates and a refreshed lineup eager to compete in a season that promises heightened visibility for women’s basketball.

Her improved physique is just one part of a bigger push to take on more responsibility and become a franchise cornerstone.

While Reese is gearing up for her second WNBA season, another former NCAA standout is also turning heads with her offseason evolution. Caitlin Clark has been working diligently to add muscle and endurance in anticipation of the pro game’s physical demands. With expectations sky-high, Clark is doing her part to meet them.

Reese and Clark may have been rivals in college, but their parallel development is helping to redefine what it means to be a star in women’s basketball.

Mulkey reacts to a big transfer win

As Reese turns the page from her college days, her influence at LSU remains strong. Head coach Kim Mulkey was all smiles after securing a commitment from Kate Koval, a five-star transfer from Notre Dame. The move is expected to fortify LSU’s frontcourt heading into the new NCAA season.

Last season, Koval posted 5.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. Her arrival comes as Notre Dame deals with multiple player departures, including Emma Risch, Olivia Miles, and Kylee Watson, who all entered the transfer portal following the team’s Sweet 16 exit.

Mulkey, known for her animated courtside energy and unwavering support for her players, celebrated Koval‘s decision by reposting a meme featuring her, Reese, and former LSU teammates dancing after the 2023 national championship.

Reese helped deliver the first women’s basketball title in LSU history that year, transferring from Maryland and quickly becoming one of the sport’s most recognizable faces.

Now, with the WNBA gaining steam and stars like Reese and Clark poised to lead a new generation, women’s basketball is on the cusp of unprecedented growth. Reese‘s transformation is more than just physical-it’s a sign of the elevated standard the league is embracing.

FIFA announces £45 tickets for World Cup 2026

FIFA has mounted a major climbdown in the ongoing row about World Cup 2026 ticket prices by announcing a small number of fans will be able to pay just £45 ($60) for each game, including the final.Following outcry from a number of national fan groups and accusations of a "betrayal" of supporters, FIFA has made a sudden and major departure from their initial pricing structure, which represented an increase across the board of almost 500 per cent compared to Qatar 2022. Under that structure, the cheapest ticket available to either England or Scotland fans for the tournament would still cost £134, for Scotland's opening group game with Haiti, while England vs Croatia and Scotland vs Brazil would set fans back a minimum of £198. The £45 tier will only be available through national federations, ensuring they end up in the […]
