Er will verlängern, Barcelona will erstmal abwarten
Frenkie de Jong (27) ist an einer vorzeitigen Vertragsverlängerung beim FC Barcelona interessiert und hat seinen Agenten Ali Dursun nun mit der Aufnahme von Gesprächen beauftragt, das berichtet die katalanische Zeitung „Mundo Deportivo“. Aktuell hat der Niederländer einen Vertrag bis 2026.

Der FC Barcelona ist ebenfalls an einer Verlängerung mit de Jong interessiert. Sportdirektor Deco betonte aber, dass die finale Entscheidung über den Mittelfeldspieler vom Trainer abhänge. Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt setzt Flick auf die Dienste von de Jong und hatte ihn schon vor der Verletzung von Marc Casado (21) zum Dreh- und Angelpunkt auserkoren.
Trotzdem ist der Verein der Meinung, dass es noch zu früh ist, um Nägel mit Köpfen zu machen…

Der Niederländer gibt zu verstehen, dass er aus Loyalitätsgründen nicht daran denkt, den Verein ablösefrei zu verlassen. Er begründet dies damit, dass der Klub ihm gegenüber eine erhebliche finanzielle Verpflichtung eingegangen sei.
Frenkie de Jong war 2019 von Ajax Amsterdam zum FC Barcelona gewechselt. Die Ablösesumme lag bei 75 Millionen Euro – plus weitere 11 Millionen, die in Abhängigkeit von Leistung und Titelgewinnen gezahlt werden.
