Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martínez, campeão mundial pela Argentina e goleiro do Aston Villa, chegou a Paris na terça-feira para enfrentar o Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) pelas quartas de final da Liga dos Campeões. Fiel à personalidade que lhe é característica, Dibu desceu do avião usando um boné argentino com os quatro títulos conquistados pela Scaloneta: a Copa do Mundo, as duas Copas Américas e a Finalíssima. Como esperado, a escolha da roupa virou notícia, e as repercussões não demoraram a chegar.
“Emiliano Martínez, o goleiro que amamos odiar” foi o título do artigo publicado pela revista francesa So Foot, que dedicou um texto inteiro para se referir à rivalidade entre o goleiro argentino e a torcida do país europeu.
“Antes da Copa do Mundo de 2022, ele era um desconhecido. Depois, irritou a França, envergonhou o resto do mundo com suas comemorações e provocou um baby boom na Argentina. No espaço de uma competição, tornou-se um bastardo para alguns, um herói para outros. Prova de que é um gênio? No texto, foi feita referência à sua maneira de comemorar durante a final da Copa do Mundo: “Gerou polêmica. É o mínimo que podemos dizer. Primeiro, houve seus passos de dança depois que Tchouaméni perdeu o pênalti, tendo chutado a bola para o outro lado da área para obrigá-lo a andar mais alguns metros (…) Um comportamento carnavalesco que fez de Dibu Martínez um herói para a Argentina e, para o resto do mundo, um canalha ou um louco.”

A verdade é que o Aston Villa chegou à França na terça-feira e enfrenta o PSG nesta quarta-feira, pelas quartas de final da Liga dos Campeões. Nas imagens compartilhadas no Instagram pelo Aston Villa, pode-se ver como os jogadores e o técnico embarcaram no avião. O nativo de Mar del Plata vestia uma camisa de futebol, carregava seu equipamento de jogo e uma pequena mala. Mas o detalhe que não passou despercebido foi o boné comemorativo da vitória da Argentina sobre a França na Copa do Mundo.
Esta não é a primeira vez que Dibu pisa em solo francês após ser coroado campeão mundial. Ele já fez isso em 2023 e 2024 para receber o Troféu Yashin como o melhor arqueiro do mundo no Théâtre du Chatelet, em Paris. E há um ano, em uma partida da Conference League, sua atuação foi mais uma vez decisiva.
