Após a excelente reta final do Brasileirão do ano passado, o Corinthians entendeu que seu elenco era bom o suficiente para manter o embalo em 2025 e não contratou reforços. Para Casagrande, no entanto, apesar de contar com um time titular muito forte, o elenco corintiano deixa a desejar.
Em participação no UOL News Esporte, o comentarista explicou como analisa o atual elenco do time campeão paulista de 2025.
“O Corinthians tem um time bom, competitivo, titular com 11 jogadores. Saem dois ou três jogadores desse time, enfraquece monstruosamente. O nível cai assustadoramente”, explicou Casagrande.
O ex-jogador ainda acredita que o Timão pode ser beneficiado na parada do Brasileirão em junho e julho durante a disputa do Mundial de Clubes da Fifa e o coloca como candidato surpresa ao título.
Casagrande acredita na classificação na Sul-Americana
Depois de duas rodadas disputadas na competição continental, o Corinthians tem apenas um ponto, mas, segundo Casão, tem todas as chances de avançar às oitavas de final.
“Eu acho que o Corinthians, para se classificar até em primeiro lugar no grupo, precisa ganhar do América de Cali, em casa, e ganhar as duas contra o Racing-URU. Ganhando esses jogos, consegue lutar direto pelo primeiro lugar, mas acho que classifica do mesmo jeito indo para o playoff”, avaliou Casagrande.
O Timão é o atual terceiro colocado no Grupo C da Copa Sul-Americana, com um ponto.
Apenas o primeiro colocado de cada grupo se classifica diretamente para as oitavas de final. O segundo enfrenta um time vindo da Libertadores em um playoff.
No fim de semana, o time volta a campo pela competição nacional. O Corinthians terá o Dérbi contra o Palmeiras neste sábado (12), às 18h30 (de Brasília), na Arena Barueri, em partida da terceira rodada.
