Jerry Jones’ work to outline the Dallas Cowboys roster for the 2025 NFL season continues, and while the spotlight is on linebacker Micah Parsons‘ contract renewal, one of the main concerns is to support quarterback Dak Prescott so that he can live up to expectations and guide the team to a successful postseason.
With the retirement of future Hall of Famer Zack Martin, Dallas needs to shore up the offensive line, but surprised with its choice of Saahdiq Charles, who had said goodbye to the gridiron at the age of 25, but according to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, the offensive lineman will sign with the Cowboys.
Josh Allen had some words for Dak Prescott after signing huge contract extension
“According to a source, the Cowboys will sign veteran offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles. The former Commanders draft player is officially back in the league and in the NFC East,” Garafolo posted on his X account.
Saahdiq Charles comes out of retirement to join the Cowboys
The Cowboys are expected to give Prescott offensive partners, in addition to CeeDee Lamb, another receiver with reliable hands is needed and, above all, a running back to give him options, but the line is key for any quarterback, which is why it is surprising that guard Saahdiq Charles was chosen, less than a year after retiring at just 25 years old.
Charles was a fourth-round pick of the Washington Commanders in the NFL Draft in 2020, at overall position 108, from LSU, but only participated in 35 games, 18 of which he was designated as a starter.
In the 2024 offseason, he signed with the Tennessee Titans, but in August he retired after leaving training camp. In March, he decided to return to the NFL and after holding workouts with Dallas in early April, he is ready to sign a contract with the Cowboys.
With the addition of Charles, Dallas strengthens an offensive line that currently consists of Tyler Smith, Cooper Beebe, Tyler Guyton, Robert Jones and Terence Steele.

Napheesa Collier injury update: Lynx star, WNBA MVP favorite goes off for 32 points in return
Minnesota Lynx star and WNBA MVP favorite Napheesa Collier returned to action in style on Sunday with 32 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 97-84 win over the Indiana Fever. Collier had been out since Aug. 2 due to a sprained right ankle. Collier looked a bit rusty early on, but once she found her groove the Fever had no answer for her. She made 11 of her 16 field goal attempts and got to the line for nine free throws. The Lynx won her 31 minutes by 24 points and lost the nine minutes she sat by 11. Collier's injury, which occurred during the Lynx's historic 53-point win over the Las Vegas Aces earlier this month, stirred controversy because it happened late in the third quarter with her team up by 43 points. Many wondered why Lynx coach Cheryl […]
