Minulý pátek zastavila policie nedaleko tréninkového centra Chelsea v Cobhamu řidiče, jenž neměl platné řidičské oprávnění, což potvrdila pro web The Sun i tamní policie. „Třiadvacetiletého muže z Cobhamu zastavili policisté na Fairmile Lane v Cobhamu v pátek 4. dubna a zjistili, že řídí bez řidičského oprávnění. Vozidlo bylo zabaveno a naše vyšetřování stále probíhá.“
Podle informací The Sun mělo jít právě o středního záložníka Chelsea, který do Londýna přestoupil z Brightonu v létě 2023 za 115 milionů liber (zhruba 3,3 milardy korun). Jak je možné, že třiadvacetiletý hráč neměl platné řidičské oprávnění? V Británii funguje systém pro cizince pobývající na ostrovech tak, že první rok můžete jezdit na mezinárodní řidičák, poté je nutné se ucházet o „dočasný průkaz Spojeného království“ a složit zkoušku z praktické jízdy.
Caicedo, jenž na ostrovech působí od roku 2021, však dočasný průkaz nikdy nezískal a tak mu při kontrole policií byl zabaven vůz, kterým se přepravoval. Toho času Audi RSQ8, nákupní hodnota nového vozu činí zhruba 160 tisíc liber (necelých 5 milionů korun).
To ale není všechno, Ekvádorce čekají ještě soudní řízení.
