Bragantino x Botafogo: Falta de criatividade põe fim a invencibilidade de oito meses do time alvinegro

Quando estava prestes a embalar sob o comando de Renato Paiva depois de duas vitórias seguidas, o Botafogo voltou a repetir os erros dos últimos jogos e saiu derrotado por 1 a 0 do confronto contra o Bragantino, ontem, no estádio Nabi Abi Chedid. Eduardo Sasha marcou o gol dos mandantes logo aos quatro minutos, após falha de Alex Telles, que cedeu o escanteio e foi facilmente driblado por Jhon Jhon em jogada ensaiada.

A derrota também pôs um fim na invencibilidade de 18 jogos do Botafogo em campeonatos brasileiros. A última derrota do time havia sido há oito meses, contra o Juventude, em agosto de 2024. Foram 11 vitórias e sete empates no período. Pelo lado do Bragantino, o resultado fez com que o time voltasse a vencer após quase dois meses — o último triunfo foi no dia 23 de fevereiro, sobre a Ponte Preta, pelo Campeonato Paulista.

Falta de criatividade

Renato Paiva optou por escalar força máxima e promoveu as entradas de Vitinho, Patrick de Paula — reservas no último jogo — e Igor Jesus — suspenso contra o Carabobo pela Libertadores — no time titular. O atacante, novamente isolado, teve um primeiro tempo discreto e, na única grande chance do Botafogo nos 45 minutos iniciais, acertou a trave de Cleiton, aos 22.

No entanto, foi o Bragantino que esteve mais perto de ampliar o placar, dois minutos depois. John e Jair, em cima da linha, evitaram o segundo gol após uma recuperação de bola do time paulista na entrada da área ofensiva. Situação ocasionada pela postura tática e pressão ofensiva do time da casa, que dominou a saída de bola do Botafogo.

No segundo tempo, o time paulista mudou a estratégia, baixando as linhas e tentando explorar os contra-ataques. A atitude do Bragantino até colocou mais o Botafogo no campo de ataque, mas a equipe alvinegra esbarrou na pouca inspiração do setor ofensivo. Aos poucos, os donos da casa retomaram as rédeas e tiveram até chance de ampliar.

A entrada de Matheus Martins e Cuiabano, aos 15 minutos, melhorou o setor ofensivo do Botafogo. A partir daí, as principais jogadas ofensivas do alvinegro saíram pelo lado esquerdo e, em uma delas, aos 36 minutos, Igor Jesus recebeu de costas, girou finalizando e viu o goleiro Cleiton fazer milagre para evitar o empate. Mas ficou nisso.

O Botafogo volta a campo na próxima quarta-feira, contra o São Paulo, às 18h30 (de Brasília), no Estádio Nilton Santos, pela quarta rodada do Brasileirão. Já o Bragantino encara o Sport, na Ilha do Retiro, no mesmo dia, às 19h (de Brasília).
