Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott has been putting his time to good use during the NFL off-season and he has shown that charity is very important to him.
Prescott lost his mother, Peggy, to colon cancer in 2013 and it means that helping to find a cure for the disease is very important to the quarterback.
In April 2024, Prescott was at the Children’s Cancer Fund Gala event and he said: “Cancer is personal to me. Having my mother go through her battle and her adversity.”
He also said: “I will always be here to do everything that I can to help champion against this fight against cancer.”
His fiancee, Sarah Jane Ramos, is also actively involved in the fight against cancer and the couple have been capturing attention for their recent efforts.
Prescott’s heartfelt words
Prescott has been rehabbing from a hamstring injury he suffered during a Week 9 loss against the Atlanta Falcons and he once again showed up at the Children’s Cancer Fund Gala in Dallas, as he has done since 2017.
“God blessed me to be able to throw the football and work hard,” Prescott said in a now-viral video. “But really, it’s to be able to share my story and inspire others.”
“This is my purpose,” he said. “To be a part of their night, to give them joy and hope, to put a smile on their face.”
And then came the line that stuck with everyone watching: “They wanna be doctors. They wanna be teachers. They wanna be the future quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys. And I’m here to tell them they can be.
“There’s time at games, you think about people who don’t have it as easy as I have it,” he said. “And it hasn’t been easy. But they’ve had crazier battles.”

Slavia v úterý uvedla, že za řeckého reprezentanta dostane 12 milionů eur (295 milionů korun).
