The WNBA Draft has become one of the most anticipated events for basketball fans. The 2024 WNBA Draft attracted 2.45 million viewers, making it the most-watched in league history. With the league’s dramatic rise in popularity, the 2025 edition is expected to surpass that number.
Last year, fans witnessed the Indiana Fever select Caitlin Clark as the first overall pick. The Los Angeles Sparks chose Cameron Brink at No. 2, while the Chicago Sky moved up to No. 3 to draft Kamilla Cardoso and later secured Angel Reese at No. 7.

What day is the 2025 WNBA Draft?
The event will take place on Monday, April 14, 2025. WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert will announce the selections and welcome new players to the league. The draft consists of three rounds: the first round includes 12 picks, while the second and third rounds feature 13 picks each.
Where is the 2025 WNBA Draft?
The Shed at Hudson Yards in Manhattan, New York, will host this year’s WNBA Draft. While individual tickets are already sold out, fans still have a chance to attend by purchasing a WNBA Experiences package, available through DashPass.
What time does the 2025 WNBA Draft start?
The draft begins at 7:30 p.m. ET (6:30 p.m. CT/4:30 p.m. PT). ESPN will broadcast the event live, featuring Ryan Ruocco as commentator, Rebecca Lobo and Andraya Carter providing expert analysis, and Holly Rowe conducting interviews with the newly drafted players. Additionally, the WNBA will stream the draft on its online platform.
