Julgamento da morte de Maradona vira circo midiático: brigas, fotos chocantes e conflitos familiares no ‘teatro do horror’

Quase cinco anos após a morte de Diego Armando Maradona, o julgamento dos sete profissionais de saúde acusados de negligência na morte do maior ídolo do futebol argentino se transformou um espetáculo midiático. Brigas familiares, acusações trocadas, advogados afastados e até a exibição de uma foto do corpo do craque transformaram o tribunal de San Isidro, nos arredores de Buenos Aires, em um palco de um drama digno da conturbada vida do craque.

Maradona morreu no dia 25 de novembro de 2020, aos 60 anos, vítima de edema pulmonar agudo e insuficiência cardíaca. À época, recuperava-se em casa de uma cirurgia para a retirada de um coágulo no cérebro. Mas o que seria uma internação domiciliar assistida tornou-se, segundo os promotores, um “teatro do horror”.

Os profissionais de saúde estão sendo julgados por homicídio simples com dolo eventual — ou seja, assumiram o risco de matar Maradona. Entre os acusados estão o neurocirurgião Leopoldo Luque, a psiquiatra Agustina Cosachov e o psicólogo Carlos Díaz. Uma oitava acusada, a enfermeira Gisela Madrid, será julgada separadamente em julho. Se condenados, os réus podem pegar entre oito e 25 anos de prisão.

“Chiqueiro” e maquete 3D

Um dos momentos mais impactantes do julgamento até agora foi a apresentação de uma maquete em 3D da casa onde Maradona passou seus últimos 14 dias de vida. Produzida por alunos da Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Belgrano, a maquete foi descrita pelo advogado Fernando Burlando — que representa Dalma e Gianinna, filhas do craque — como uma prova “ultrajante” da precariedade do local.

“Foi um trabalho incrível. A testemunha se posiciona e revive certas circunstâncias. Demonstra, ao vivo, a incapacidade de Diego de estar naquela casa”, afirmou Burlando. Ele chegou a definir o local como um “chiqueiro”, acusando a equipe médica de tratar o ex-jogador como um fardo incômodo.

Segundo os promotores Patricio Ferrari e Cosme Iribarren, os acusados abandonaram Maradona à própria sorte durante um “prolongado e agonizante período” antes de sua morte. Um painel de 20 especialistas concluiu que Maradona teria tido maiores chances de sobrevivência se estivesse internado em uma clínica.

O promotor classificou a internação domiciliar como “temerária, deficiente e sem precedentes”. E chocou o mundo ao mostrar uma fotografia de Maradona deitado, com o corpo visivelmente inchado.

— Foi assim que Maradona morreu — afirmou ele.

Últimos momentos: barriga inchada, sem soro e sem desfibrilador

Os testemunhos dos últimos momentos de Maradona também ganharam as manchetes com a descrição do estado de abandono da lenda do futebol. O subcomissário Lucas Farías, o primeiro policial uniformizado a entrar na casa de Maradona após sua morte, disse que ficou chocado com o que viu: “O abdômen dele estava extremamente inchado, prestes a explodir. Não havia soro intravenoso. Não vi nenhum equipamento médico no quarto”, afirmou.

Já o comissário Lucas Borge confirmou: “Vi Maradona coberto por um lençol branco. Parecia estar dormindo. Mas a barriga dele estava muito inchada. Não havia uma cama hospitalar. Era apenas uma base de colchão comum. Também não havia desfibrilador”.

Briga de família, afastamento de advogados e mensagens vazadas

O julgamento também tem escancarado conflitos familiares e confusões jurídicas. Enquanto as filhas Dalma e Gianinna acusam os médicos de abandono, duas das irmãs de Maradona, Ana e Rita, responsabilizaram as próprias sobrinhas por aceitarem a internação domiciliar.

Claudia, irmã mais nova de Maradona, 53 anos, disse que Diego “às vezes resistia” ao tratamento médico e que ele “tinha um caráter forte”. Ela também participou da decisão de mantê-lo sob cuidados em casa.

Verónica Ojeda, ex-companheira de Maradona de 2005 a 2014 e mãe de seu filho mais novo, denunciou que os médicos “mentiram na cara” dela e garantiram cuidados constantes que jamais aconteceram. Ela também vazou uma série de mensagens segundo as quais a psiquiatra Agustina Cosachov, ré no processo, admitiu ter mantido relações sexuais com o ex-jogador de futebol.

A profissional de saúde contestou as informações: alegou que as mensagens foram tiradas do contexto e o tom era irônico.

“O que está sendo dito sobre uma suposta relação íntima com meu paciente é absolutamente falso e profundamente injusto. Nunca mantive, nem manteria, qualquer tipo de relação com um paciente que não fosse estritamente médico-paciente. Isso se aplica não apenas ao Sr. Maradona, mas a cada um dos meus pacientes, a quem respeito profundamente”, publicou Agustina.

Gravações de áudio comprometedoras entre Leopoldo Luque, médico pessoal de Maradona, e Agustina já haviam vazado, nas quais eles falavam com desdém sobre a saúde do ídolo.

Em meio ao processo, dois advogados foram afastados por possível conflito de interesse — defendiam tanto o enfermeiro Ricardo Almirón quanto Gisela Madrid. Um deles, Rodolfo Baqué, acusou os juízes de censura: “Fui excluído porque não querem que eu diga que Maradona foi assassinado”.

Mensagens de texto e áudios vazados também foram citados como provas de que a equipe médica queria evitar a interferência das filhas de Maradona para “não perder dinheiro”.

O circo judicial se arrastará por longos meses. São previstas sessões às terças e quintas, até julho, com mais de 120 testemunhas. Até haver justiça pela morte de Maradona, a exposição do craque, dos erros médicos e das brigas familiares serão a principal atração do julgamento.
