A la espera de ver si finalmente se puede disputar el Mundial de ciclismo de este año en Ruanda, la UCI ha presentado la sede y el trazado de la prueba de 2027. En dos temporadas los mundiales de ciclismo se disputarán del 24 de agosto al 5 de septiembre en Sallanches y la Alta Saboya (Francia) y el trazado de la prueba de ruta masculina mete mucho miedo con 266 kilómetros y un desnivel total de 5700 metros.
La organización vuelve a tentar a Pogacar y Vingegaard con una prueba muy para escaladores que obligará a completar 20 vuelta a un circuito con final en Sallanches con paso por la Cote de Domancy que presenta 2,5 km al 9,5% y duros tramos al 13%.
