Patnáctinásobný šampion Ligy mistrů se mezi čtyři nejlepší týmy probojoval čtyřikrát za poslední čtyři roky a dvakrát soutěž ovládl. Arsenal by se do semifinále dostal poprvé od roku 2009.
„Vedeme sice 3:0, ale individuální kvalita Realu je děsivá. A San Bernabéu je San Bernabéu – během večerů Ligy mistrů se tam dějí zvláštní věci,“ připomněl dvougólový hrdina Rice, že madridský celek je na domácí půdě mimořádně silný.
O odvetný obrat se pokusí i trenér Carlo Ancelotti: „Real je jediný tým, který už mnohokrát dokázal otočit dvojzápas. Pokusíme se o to znovu.“
Interu stačí k postupu remíza
Druhé čtvrtfinále má blíže k remízové přetahované. Inter, lídr Serie A, rozhodl první zápas v Mnichově až v 88. minutě a odvezl si vítězství 2:1. Na San Siru mu tak k postupu stačí i nerozhodný výsledek. Do semifinále by se dostal podruhé za poslední tři roky.
Inter navíc táhne skvělá forma – v posledních dvanácti soutěžních zápasech neprohrál. A historie hovoří jasně – v posledních čtyřech vzájemných duelech na San Siru pokaždé porazil Bayern, třikrát s nulou vzadu.
„Musíme zapomenout na výsledek, ale navázat na výkon z Mnichova. Odehráli jsme skvělý zápas,“ řekl trenér Simone Inzaghi.
Bayern, který doma v bundeslize bojuje o titul s Leverkusenem, čelí hrozbě, že od triumfu v roce 2020 opět vypadne už ve čtvrtfinále – už počtvrté od té doby.
„Musíme si věřit. Je to jen o jeden gól. V Mnichově jsme si ukázali, že si proti nim šance vytvořit umíme. Nebude to lehké, ale týmu věřím,“ burcuje Harry Kane.
Motivace Bayernu je navíc jasná – letošní finále se koná právě v jejich domácí Allianz Areně.
Po úterních odvetách už mají semifinále jisté Barcelona a PSG. Oba celky sice prohrály, ale těžily z náskoku z prvních zápasů.
