Denn wie so oft in dieser Saison in der Handball-Bundesliga setzte es gegen einen Top-Klub eine knappe Heim-Niederlage. Trainer Runar Sigtryggsson: „Insgesamt war der Sieg für Flensburg verdient. Ich denke, wir haben alles gegeben, was wir heute zur Verfügung hatten – leider hat das nicht gereicht.“
Handball: Leipzig schmiert in der Bundesliga ab
Eben das war zuvor schon gegen Magdeburg (30:31), die Füchse Berlin (30:33), Hannover (30:32), Kiel (28:32) und Melsungen (27:28) der Fall. Gegner, die der Klub in den letzten Jahren daheim durchaus schon schlagen konnte. Zudem hatte sich Flensburg zuletzt gerade auswärts nicht mit Ruhm bekleckert.

Bedenklich: In der Rückrunden-Tabelle schmierte die DHfK, bei der aktuell nur Matej Klima verletzt fehlt, mit nur drei Punkten aus neun Spielen auf den vorletzten Platz ab – noch hinter den insgesamt Letzten VfL Potsdam (wobei die Gegner natürlich andere waren). Trotzdem: Der einst so aufstrebende Klub, der einen Etat von 7,5 Mio. Euro, verballert, ist mittlerweile ins Graue-Maus-Image abgestürzt – wobei zumindest die Zuschauerzahlen (gegen Flensburg waren es über 5000) noch stimmen.
[–>Rein rechnerisch könnte Leipzig sogar in dieser Saison noch absteigen. Nur sieben Punkte Vorsprung sind es auf den ersten Abstiegsplatz – bei noch acht Spielen. Soweit wird es nicht kommen. Aber was wird das in der nächsten Saison, wenn mit Luca Witzke (Flensburg) noch ein Star weg ist?

Übrigens: Das letzte wirkliche Leipziger Highlight gab es im September, als daheim die Rhein-Neckar Löwen bezwungen wurden. Dort geht es am Donnerstag hin. Torwart Kristian Saeveras bei Dyn: „Wir nehmen positive Dinge mit aus dem Spiel gegen Flensburg und können hoffentlich wieder zwei Punkte holen.“
Mit 17 Paraden war er der beste Leipziger. Im Sommer geht allerdings auch er – nach Göppingen. Tomas Mrkva kommt dafür aus Kiel.
