O jogo entre Botafogo e Ceará, pela 10ª rodada do Brasileirão, alterado pela CBF nesta semana para ser disputado no dia 4 de junho, acontecerá cinco dias antes da viagem do clube carioca para os Estados Unidos, por conta do Mundial de Clubes.
A princípio, conforme apurado pelo GLOBO, o alvinegro viajará ao país norte-americano no dia 9 de junho, seis dias antes da estreia, contra o Seattle Sounders (EUA). A partida da 1ª rodada do Grupo B será às 23h (de Brasília) do dia 15 daquele mês, na cidade de Seattle.
O clube já tem base definida para a disputa da fase de grupos, e se hospedará em um resort cinco estrelas em Santa Bárbara, na Califórnia, ao lado de Los Angeles. Após a estreia, o Botafogo disputará dois jogos no Rose Bowl, estádio que fica na região, contra Paris Saint-Germain (França) e Atlético de Madrid (Espanha), nos dias 19 e 23 de junho, respectivamente.
Mudança no calendário
O Botafogo havia sido atendido pela CBF no pleito feito junto de Flamengo, Fluminense e Palmeiras, para o adiamento de seus jogos na 12ª rodada do Brasileirão, que acontecerá no dia 12 de junho. A ideia era ter duas semanas de preparação exclusiva para o Mundial, pois a 11ª rodada acontecerá nos dias 31 de maio e 1º de junho, e será seguida por uma data Fifa.
Porém, as circunstâncias do calendário fizeram com que o jogo contra o Ceará, inicialmente previsto para as 16h do dia 24 de maio, no Nilton Santos, fosse transferido para as 20h do dia 4.
Agora, há o lado negativo da possibilidade de haver alguns desfalques caso atletas do elenco sejam convocados para as Eliminatórias para a Copa do Mundo, além dos dias a menos no período que seria de foco total no Mundial.
Mesmo assim, a alteração foi bem avaliada internamente, por conta do desgaste do elenco. Como os meses de abril e maio são intensos e com calendário cheio para o alvinegro, que disputa Libertadores, Brasileirão e Copa do Brasil, o adiamento permitirá uma “folga” na tabela.
Outro ponto positivo é que a equipe treinada por Renato Paiva terá mais tempo de descanso para a rodada final da fase de grupos da Libertadores, contra a Universidad de Chile, também no Nilton Santos, no dia 27 de maio.
Além disso, a própria CBF definiu que o confronto de volta contra o Capital (DF), pela terceira fase da Copa do Brasil, será no dia 22 daquele mês. O Botafogo não teria um tempo mínimo para descanso na data anterior.
