České hráčky mají Finkám co vracet. Na letošním šampionátu odehrály se severským soupeřem vůbec výkonnostně nejhorší zápas na turnaji, když prohrály 2:4. A národní tým bude chtít oplatit nejen tento zápas. Hráčky i fanoušci mají jistě v paměti loňské utkání o bronz na mistrovství světa v Utice.
Před rokem se Češky utkaly s Finkami ve stejné fázi turnaje a z amerického dějiště odjížděly jako poražené. Na bramborové pozici, bez medaile. Finkám podlehly v napínavých nájezdech 2:3. Smutný pocit z porážky zažilo hned 19 hokejistek z letošního výběru Carly MacLeodové.
Na letošním šampionátu si český tým vede skvěle. Na úvod základní skupiny porazil Švýcarsko, obstojně sehrál utkání s oběma zámořskými celky. Ve čtvrtfinále si pak národní družstvo vyšláplo opět na Švýcarsko, které deklasovalo 7:0.
V semifinále pak přišel pro mnohé hokejové příznivce šok v podobě vyrovnaného výkonu s favorizovanými Spojenými státy. Češky dlouhou dobu vedly a byly vzdorovitým soupeřem, nakonec však Američankám podlehly 1:2.

Reprezentantky Finska na úvod turnaje zapsaly dvě vysoké prohry s USA a Kanadou, pak se ale naladily na vítěznou notu. Poradily si s českým týmem, Švýcarskem a ve čtvrtfinále s bojovným Švédskem. Stopka přišla znovu až od zámořského soupeře, Kanaďanky v semifinále nadělily Finkám nepříjemný osmigólový debakl.
MS v hokeji žen 2025
Zatímco na MS v hokeji mužů 2025 budou Češi obhajovat první místo, na již 24. ročníku mistrovství světa v hokeji žen český výběr útočí na návrat na medailové pozice. Šampionát hokejistek se koná v termínu od 9. do 20. dubna 2025 v Českých Budějovicích.
