2025 NBA playoff bracket: First-round matchups, schedule, game times as Lakers, Thunder get Game 2 wins

The 2025 NBA playoffs are officially underway. The Pacers, Nuggets, Knicks and Timberwolves all got Game 1 wins on Saturday while the Thunder, Celtics, Cavaliers and Warriors were victorious on Sunday as the first round got started. On Monday, the Pistons tied their series with the Knicks at 1-1 and the Clippers did the same with a win over the Nuggets. On Tuesday, the Thunder and Pacers took 2-0 series leads over the Grizzlies and Bucks, respectively, while the Lakers evened their series with the Timberwolves.

The Western Conference is full of intriguing first-round matchups this season. The seventh-seeded and battled-tested Warriors are favored over the second-seeded but relatively inexperienced Rockets — and that experience showed as Golden State won 95-85 in Houston on Sunday. The Lakers were beaten up inside in Game 1 vs. Minnesota, but responded with much more physicality in their Game 2 win. The 4-5 matchup between the Nuggets and Clippers could go either way with Nikola Jokić on one side and Kawhi Leonard on the other. Game 1 went to overtime in Denver with the Nuggets prevailing and the Clippers responded with a Game 2 win as Leonard scored 39.

In the East, our experts expect it to be a chalky first round. On paper, the Cavaliers and Celtics should be able to take care of business against the Heat and Magic, respectively, and that’s exactly what happened to open both series on Sunday. The Knicks went on a key fourth-quarter run to take Game 1 over the Pistons, but dropped Game 2. Bucks-Pacers reignites a rivalry in the 4-5 matchup, but the Pacers are up 2-0 and in complete control.

But, as we learn each and every year, anything can happen in the playoffs.

WATCH: Seahawks pull even with Rams on bizarre two-point conversion after backward pass fumble

Imagn Images The Seattle Seahawks tied the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth quarter off one of the strangest plays you'll ever see ... and yet another reminder to play through the whistle. With Seattle down 30-28 after Sam Darnold's touchdown pass to A.J. Barner, Jared Verse tipped away Darnold's screen pass to Zach Charbonnet on the two-point conversion attempt. At least, that's what it looked like. However, replays showed Darnold's pass was actually a backward pass -- also known as a fumble -- and because Charbonnet picked the ball up in the end zone and the whistle hadn't blown, it counts as a two-point conversion. Replays clearly show the ball was traveling backward from between where Darnold released it and Verse tipped it away. Charbonnet's seemingly nonchalant action ended up being a huge shift. The Seahawks were down 30-14 just moments before this […]
