Jenže to nebudou mít lehké. Viktoriáni právě v Aténách ubránili remízový výsledek i přes brzké vyloučení Václava Jemelky. College basketball winners and losers: Melvin Council rescues Kansas, Kentucky turns it on late vs. Indiana

During the final minutes of regulation of Kansas' game vs. NC State on Saturday, Jayhawks star Darryn Peterson -- the projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft -- checked out of the game twice. Peterson, who returned last weekend against Missouri after missing his team's previous seven games due to a hamstring injury, appeared to reaggravate the injury. "I think he was getting tight," Kansas coach Bill Self said postgame. "I haven't talked to the doctor yet or the trainer, but he said he needed to come out." Even without Peterson down the stretch, Kansas walked away with a dramatic 77-76 overtime upset win over NC State on Saturday, in one of the best games of the 2025-26 season thus far. The hero for Kansas was Melvin Council Jr., who scored a career-high 36 points and knocked down nine 3-pointers. […]

UFC Fight Night results, highlights: Manel Kape knocks out Brandon Royval in first round, calls for title shot

Manel Kape wants his title shot now. Kape made a strong case for why he should challenge flyweight champion Joshua Van, knocking out Brandon Royval with relative ease in their UFC Fight Night main event.Kape executed his game plan to a T. Before Saturday's fight, Kape said he wanted to back Royval to the fence before unleashing his trademark power. He did exactly that. Kape forced Royval on the back foot with a series of punches, then uncorked a right hook against the fence that dropped Royval. One ultra-precise follow-up shot briefly rendered Royval unconscious in Round 1. Royval briefly protested the storage, but quickly relented, and a replay confirmed that he was out cold if only for a moment. "Now we're talking. Joshua Van, you said Brandon Royval would kick my ass," Kape said in his post-fight interview. "You replaced […]

Brayden Burries’ eruption in romp over No. 12 Alabama gives No. 1 Arizona a splash of championship hot sauce

During a media scrum earlier this week, Alabama coach Nate Oats remarked that he warned his team that Arizona's Brayden Burries was "a kid that can go off for 30 at any point," according to the Tuscaloosa News' Emilee Smarr. Oh, how prescient that turned out to be. The five-star freshman erupted for a career-high 28 points to help No. 1 Arizona run away and hide from No. 12 Alabama in the second half of Saturday's 96-75 rout in Birmingham. It's Arizona's fifth win over a ranked team in the first nine games, and a true "I'm here" moment for Burries, who had struggled to find his footing in early November but is on rock-solid ground a month later. The 6-4, 205-pound guard obliterated Alabama's smaller backcourt with bouldering drives, feathery 3s and one pinpoint lob to Tobe Awaka that led to the […]
