As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, one of the most intriguing prospects is Travis Hunter, the versatile cornerback and wide receiver from the University of Colorado.

Hunter, who made history by winning the 2024 Heisman Trophy as a two-way player, has expressed a strong desire to continue his football journey with the Denver Broncos.

During an appearance on Sleeper’s “Kickin’ It With Dee,” Hunter shared his appreciation for the Colorado community and his wish to remain in the state.

He highlighted the warmth and support he received from the people in Boulder, stating, “I wish I could go to the Broncos just to stay in Colorado just because so many people welcomed us with open arms and they showed us love that we wouldn’t have never have gotten in a different spot.” This sentiment underscores his comfort and connection to the area.

Hunter’s exceptional performance in college football has made him a top prospect. In the 2024 season, he recorded 92 receptions for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns as a wide receiver, while also contributing defensively with four interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and earning the title of Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.

His dual-threat capability is reminiscent of past legends like Charles Woodson, who also excelled on both sides of the ball.

Potential draft implications for the Broncos

The Denver Broncos currently hold the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. However, there is speculation that the team might consider trading up to the No. 2 spot, currently held by the Cleveland Browns.

Such a move could involve offering a substantial package, including first-round picks in 2025 and 2026, along with additional second- or third-round selections. This strategy would be aimed at securing a player of Hunter’s caliber.

From a roster perspective, Hunter’s addition to the Broncos would address key areas of need. Defensively, pairing him with standout cornerback Pat Surtain II would create a formidable duo in the secondary.

Offensively, Hunter would provide a dynamic weapon for second-year quarterback Bo Nix, complementing the existing receiving corps. His ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game makes him a valuable asset for the Broncos.

As the draft nears, all eyes will be on the Broncos to see if they make a move to bring Travis Hunter to Denver, potentially reshaping the team’s future with this exceptional talent.

How far will Shedeur Sanders fall in 2025 NFL Draft? Colorado QB not picked in Round 4 as Day 3 continues

Getty Images Shedeur Sanders may believe he's the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class, but NFL teams apparently feel otherwise. After going unselected in the first round on Thursday night, Sanders was also completely overlooked in Round 2, when Louisville's Tyler Shough became the next quarterback to come off the board. Then all of Round 3 also passed without his name being called. Jalen Milroe, meanwhile, became the fourth quarterback off the board when the Seattle Seahawks drafted the Alabama star at No. 92 overall. Two picks later, the Cleveland Browns selected Oregon signal-caller Dillon Gabriel, passing on Sanders for the fourth time in the draft. Day 3 of the draft is underway, and Sanders went undrafted in the fourth round -- the opening round on Saturday -- as well.  Sanders' dramatic tumble came hours after CBS Sports NFL insider […]
