Seine starken Leistungen werden offenbar auch in Europa wahrgenommen!
Juventus Turin soll großes Interesse an DFB- und Stuttgart-Star Jamie Leweling (24) haben. Nach BILD-Informationen steht er auf der Wunschliste ganz oben, soll schon im Sommer zum italienischen Rekordmeister kommen.
Das Werben hat schon konkrete Formen angenommen: Die sportliche Führung des Klubs soll schon Kontakt zur Leweling-Seite aufgenommen haben. Stuttgart habe aber die besten Karten, alle Interessenten für Leweling (20 Mio. Euro Marktwert) auszustechen.
Der Grund: die Vertrauensbasis, die Verein und Spieler aufgebaut haben. VfB-Sportvorstand Fabian Wohlgemuth (46) schaffte es, Leweling die Ausstiegsklausel abzukaufen. Er verlängerte bis 2029.
[–>Außerdem fühle sich der Nationalspieler in Stuttgart wohl. Für weiterhin gute Stimmung könnte das DFB-Pokalfinale am 24. Mai gegen den Drittligisten Arminia Bielefeld sorgen. Mit einem Sieg wäre der VfB (aktuell nur Liga-11.) automatisch für die Europa League qualifiziert.
Leweling war 2024 nach vorheriger Leihe fest für fünf Millionen Euro Ablöse von Union Berlin zum VfB gewechselt. In Stuttgart schaffte er den Durchbruch: Vergangene Saison hatte er entscheidenden Anteil an der Vizemeisterschaft unter Trainer Sebastian Hoeneß (42).
Für Deutschland machte er inzwischen zwei Länderspiele unter Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann (37), schoss den DFB beim Debüt sogar prompt zum 1:0-Sieg gegen Holland in der Nations League. In dieser Saison kommt Leweling bislang auf fünf Tore und vier Vorlagen in 33 Pflichtspielen.
