The New York Jets have added a cornerstone piece to their offensive line with the selection of Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou with the No. 7 pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Membou came to football late — first playing in eighth grade before developing into an all-state performer in high school. He played three seasons for the Tigers, becoming a starter late in his freshman year, and spent nearly all of his collegiate career at right tackle. Last season, Membou posted a Pro Football Focus grade of 90.4, which ranked third nationally among Power 4 offensive tackles and was a second-team All-SEC selection. The 6-foot-4, 332-pound athlete blocked for an offense that finished second in the SEC and 10th nationally in red zone efficiency, converting 92 percent (46 of 50) of its opportunities.

At the NFL Scouting Combine in February, Membou showed off his athleticism by posting the top 40-yard dash time (4.91 seconds) and most bench press reps (31) by an offensive tackle prospect — both were the second-best marks among all offensive linemen. He also had the best broad jump (9 feet, 7 inches) and the fourth-best vertical jump (34 inches) among all OL prospects.
Membou was the second-rated offensive tackle — behind LSU’s Will Campbell — on the The Athletic draft expert Dane Brugler’s big board.
‘The Beast’ breakdown
Membou was ranked No. 7 in Dane Brugler’s top 300 big board. Here’s what Brugler had to say about him in his annual NFL Draft guide:
“As a pass blocker, Membou displays above-average balance, quickness and a jolting punch in his sets to mirror up and down the arc. He was equally effective in the run game with Missouri often running it behind No. 79 and his drive power. Overall, Membou might not have ideal height for a tackle, but he plays long with exceptional control and finishing skills. His tools remind me of Troy Fautanu (drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round) from the 2024 draft class, and all the talent is there for him to become a long-term NFL starting tackle.”
Coaching intel
What an anonymous coach had to say about Membou in Bruce Feldman’s mock draft:
“I can see why some people might think he’s a guard because he’s so strong and explosive, but he can also really bend. His football IQ is high.”
I’m on the 8th tape for #Missouri RT Armand Membou and I can count the number of pressures allowed on one hand (zero sacks). Love this dude. 📈📈
Looks like a 1st round player. Explosive + controlled in pass pro. Finisher in the run game. Still just 20 years old. pic.twitter.com/HorFXIQSEn
