Ve Španělsku byl představen nový okruh pro závody formule 1. Z části povede městem

V Madridu se bude poprvé závodit už v příští sezoně. Španělská metropole má s formulí 1 podepsanou smlouvu na 10 let, v nichž bude hostit závody královny motorsportu. Pravděpodobně převezme Velkou cenu Španělska od Barcelony, které končí smlouva po příští sezoně. V té závodníky čekají dva závody ve Španělsku.

V pátek byl položen symbolický základní kámen trati, jejíž výstavba by měla začít v úvodu příštího měsíce.

Ambasadorem závodu se stal rodák ze španělského hlavního města Carlos Sainz. „Stát se ambasadorem madridského okruhu bylo snadné rozhodnutí. Věřím tomu, že zde dokážeme vybudovat nejlepší trať na světě. V Madrid mám naprostou důvěru – je neporazitelný,“ vysvětlil Sainz, proč se stal tváří Madringu.

Díky novému okruhu bude v roce 2026 Madrid jediným evropským hlavním městem, kde se pojede závod formule 1. Zdejší trať bude z části využívat veřejné komunikace a spojí aspekty městských okruhů s těmi permanentních tratí, podobně jako na okruhu v Miami.

Už teď je dané, že se pojede 57 kol, délka závodní dráhy bude 5,4 km, a monoposty během této vzdálenosti zdolají 22 zatáček včetně 24procentní naklopené zatáčky nazvané „La Monumental“, inspirované zatáčkou Luyendyk v Zandvoortu a tvarem arény pro býčí zápasy Las Ventas.

S představením návrhu trati bylo vydáno i video s náhledem průjezdu celé délky okruhu. „Ostatní piloti se mě na trať ptali a já jsem jim řekl, ať se nebojí. Budu se snažit pomoct ve vývoji trati tak, aby byla zábavná pro jezdce i fanoušky,“ uvedl Sainz.

„Ze svého pohledu pilota chci, aby trať měla charisma a vlastní charakter, kterým se odliší. Zde na Madringu je to kombinace městského okruhu se zdmi velmi blízko trati a následným otevřenějším prostorem, který je blíž tradičním evropským okruhům, jež máme jako jezdci rádi,“ vysvětloval Sainz, čím bude Madring odlišný a zajímavý.
