Im Finale der Copa del Rey musste Ferland Mendy (29) verletzungsbedingt ausgewechselt werden. Bitter: Der Real-Star wird erneut lange ausfallen – nachdem er gerade erst zurückgekehrt war. Wie der Klub bekannt gab, hat sich der Franzose einen Sehnenriss im hinteren rechten Oberschenkel zugezogen.
[–>Demnach soll Mendy mindestens zwei Monate lang fehlen. Das Aus für die restliche La-Liga-Saison! Auch die Klub-Weltmeisertschaft (14. Juni bis 13. Juli) wird er verpassen. Ein Schock für Real.
Im Finale der Copa del Rey hatte Real mit 2:3 nach Verlängerung gegen Erzrivale Barcelona verloren. Während Barça das Tripple eintüten kann, kämpft Real jetzt um wenigstens einen Titel in dieser Saison. Allerdings haben die Los Blancos in der Liga vier Punkte Rückstand auf Tabellenführer Barça.
Mendys Verletzung kommt da mehr als ungelegen. Denn: neben dem Linksverteidiger fehlen bis Saison-Ende auch Dani Carvajal (33, Kreuzbandriss), Éder Militão (27, Kreuzbandriss), Eduardo Camavinga (22, Oberschenkel), Antonio Rüdiger (32, OP nach Außenminiskuseinriss). Letzterer ist nicht nur verletzt, sondern auch gesperrt – für seinen Ausraster nach Abpfiff. Damit fehlt Real eine ganze Abwehrkette.
Das Comeback kam für Mendy wohl zu früh. In der 9. Minute saß er bereits auf dem Platz und deutete an, Schmerzen im rechten Oberschenkel zu haben. Nur zwei Minuten war klar: Es geht nicht weiter. Real Trainer Carlo Ancelotti (65) nahm ihn vom Platz und brachte stattdessen Fran Garcia (25). Der wird Mendy nun für den Rest der Saison ersetzen müssen.

Bereits am 12. März hatte sich Mendy im Spiel gegen Atlético in der Champions League eine Verletzung zugezogen. Damals rette sich Real noch per Elfmeterschießen ins Viertelfinale. Dort war dann gegen Arsenal Schluss.
Reals Seuchen-Saison scheint noch kein Ende gefunden zu haben.
