Deion “Bucky” Sanders Jr. had had enough. The eldest son of legendary Coach Prime was fed up with the hypocrisy and jumped to the defense of his brother, Shedeur Sanders, focusing on recent statements by Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
Amid all the controversy surrounding him leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, the Steelers were one of the favorites to select the former Colorado star in the first round. However, Pittsburgh chose another path, and it took the Cleveland Browns to stop Sanders’ free fall, taking him with the 144th overall pick.
That happened despite Pittsburgh inviting Sanders for a private tour of its facilities before the draft weekend. A week after the draft, Tomlin finally spoke about that visit and had nothing but praise for the young quarterback. However, Deion Jr. felt those were just words, belied by the team’s actions.
Bucky is fed up with the hypocrisy
At a press conference a few days ago, Tomlin revealed that the meeting with Shedeur had been a regular pre-draft visit. Regarding the player, the coach admitted, “There’s a toughness there that doesn’t get talked about enough. There’s a competitive spirit that doesn’t get talked about enough.”
The praise continued, but it didn’t explain why the Steelers passed on Shedeur in the draft, and that was the final straw for Deion Jr. In a post on his Well Off Media Instagram profile, Bucky shared the clip of Tomlin’s remarks with a devastating three-word caption: “You tell me.”

The lapidary statement encapsulates the frustration not only of Deion Sanders’s eldest son but the entire family, and fans agree. At the time of writing, the post has accumulated more than 4,500 likes and 450 comments, all from fans outraged by Tomlin’s stance after the draft.
Now that the draft has passed and Shedeur is about to wear the Browns’ uniform for the first time at the rookie minicamp, the moment of truth has arrived. This is when the young gun must prove he’s made for great things and thus disprove all those who didn’t believe in him.
