No hay símbolo más poderoso para entender la esencia del Inter de Milán que el “Biscione”, esa serpiente que se enroscó durante décadas en el escudo nerazzurro. En la previa de la semifinal de vuelta entre Inter y Barça, el club ha publicado varios gráficos en alusión a uno de sus íconos.
El origen del “Biscione”
Todo comenzó cuando la influyente familia Visconti, una de las más poderosas de esa época en la ciudad, incorporó al Biscione en su escudo. La serpiente se convirtió en un símbolo de autoridad y nobleza, ligado a Milán hasta la fecha.
Aunque los Visconti dejaron de gobernar en 1447, el símbolo fue adoptado por el Ducado de Milán, manteniéndose como una marca distintiva de la ciudad durante siglos.

Cuando el Inter nació en 1908, sus fundadores —disidentes del AC Milan— no compartían las limitaciones a jugadores extranjeros. Se proclamaron “hermanos del mundo” y se alejaron de los símbolo que los ataran a lo local, incluido el Biscione.
Pero con la llegada del fascismo y su obsesión por italianizarlo todo, el club fue forzado a adoptar un perfil más nacionalista. En 1925, la serpiente apareció por primera vez en su escudo.

Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el nombre Internazionale fue restaurado, pero el Biscione ya era inseparable del club. En décadas posteriores se convirtió en protagonista de camisetas históricas. La más reciente, la del 2021-22, fue objeto de polémica.
Inter celebró ese año su identidad milanesa con dos camisetas alusivas: la local imitaba la piel de serpiente, y la visitante mostraba al icónico Biscione. Esta última fue vetada por la UEFA por contener elementos “gráficos que no fueran los del escudo o los sponsors”.
