Pep Guardiola hat schon Plan B in der Hand – oder besser gesagt Plan G!
Schon seit geraumer Zeit ist der Trainer von Manchester City an Leverkusen-Star Florian Wirtz interessiert, will den Ausnahmekönner unbedingt verpflichten. Schließlich verlässt mit Kevin de Bruyne der Dreh- und Angelpunkt der Offensive der vergangenen Jahre die Cityzens am Saisonende.
Doch nach SPORT BILD-Informationen will Wirtz unbedingt zu Bayern München wechseln. Ein herber Schlag für Guardiola, der aber nicht Guardiola wäre, wenn er nicht schon eine Alternative im Auge hätte.

So soll er nach Informationen von Transfer-Insider Fabrizio Romano Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest) verpflichten wollen. „Man City will sich in den nächsten Wochen um die Verpflichtung von Morgan Gibbs-White bemühen und bleibt damit eine der besten Optionen“, schreibt der Italiener in den sozialen Medien. Morgan Gibbs-White ist eines der Gesichter des Aufschwungs von Nottingham Forest, das in der vergangenen Saison nur knapp dem Abstieg aus der Premier League entgangen ist, und nun auf Platz sechs liegend den Einzug ins internationale Geschäft so gut wie sicher hat.
Mit fünf Treffern und neun Vorlagen hat der Spielmacher einen großen Anteil. Nicht nur Pep Guardiola, sondern auch Tuchel-Vorgänger bei der englischen Nationalmannschaft, Interimstrainer Lee Carsley, ist auf Gibbs-White aufmerksam geworden. Im September des vergangenen Jahres hat er ihn erstmals für die „Three Lions“ nominiert.
Erst das internationale Geschäft und dann der Wechsel zu einem absoluten Spitzenklub? Nach Informationen Romanos dürfte ein Transfer nicht am Spieler scheitern. Anders könnten es bei den Verhandlungen zwischen den Vereinen sein. Denn: Nottingham Forest soll sich Hoffnungen machen, Gibbs-White beim Einzug nach Europa doch halten zu können.
Ob das reicht, damit Gibbs-White den Lockrufen Guadiolas widersteht, wird sich in den kommenden Wochen zeigen.
