Pope Francis’ successor does not agree with the immigration policy of Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. On his X account (formerly Twitter) he shared an article from National Catholic Reporter entitled: “JD Vance is wrong: Jesus does not ask us to classify our love for others”
In the article, the vice president is quoted as saying in an interview with Fox News on January 29: “There is a Christian concept: love your family, love your neighbor, love your community, love your fellow citizens, and then prioritize the rest of the world”
When sharing the text, Robert Prevost makes it clear that he does not agree with this position, which can be interpreted as an exclusion of US citizens towards Latin American immigrants
