FCS programs are one step from increasing their regular-season football schedule in 2026 after the NCAA FCS oversight committee approved a recommendation for an annual 12-game campaign.
The recommendation provides for a standard 13-week schedule, which opens on the final Thursday in August each year.

Currently, FCS programs’ schedules fluctuate on the calendar. In years when 12 weeks separate Labor Day weekend from the FCS playoff selection show — which airs the Sunday before Thanksgiving — FCS teams play 11 games. When Labor Day weekend is 13 weeks before the selection show, the season consists of 12 games.
The committee cited the consistency of programs playing the same number of regular-season contests as FBS participants as a reason for the 12-game approval. FBS teams operated with the same calendar-dependent schedule until 2006, when a 12-game schedule went into effect.
“Standardizing the start date and number of contests in FCS football enhances the overall experience and provides FCS football student-athletes with the opportunity to participate in the same number of regular-season contests as FBS football student-athletes, regardless of the calendar year,” the committee wrote in its report.
Final approval will come next month at the full NCAA Division I Council meeting, where it is likely to pass.

Puig emulates legendary Ballesteros to win Australian PGA Championship
David Puig became the first Spaniard since the legendary Seve Ballesteros to win the Australian PGA Championship, securing the Joe Kirkwood Cup with a superb final round of 66 at Royal Queensland on Sunday.Puig, who turns 24 in a week and was playing his first event since joining the DP World Tour, carded a second successive bogey-free round, finishing at 18-under to win the tournament by two strokes from China's Wenyi Ding, who also had a final-round 66. It was the first time a Spanish player had won the event since the late Ballesteros claimed the crown as a 24-year-old in 1981 at Royal Melbourne, where he fought back from five strokes down in the final round to beat Billy Dunk by three shots, with Greg Norman finishing a further stroke back in a tie for third. 2025 College Football Rankings: Georgia Climbs to No. 3, Texas A&M Drops Out of Top 5
The balance of power shifts once again to the Big Ten and away from the SEC.The nation’s top two teams — consensus No. 1 and No. 2 — will enter the Big Ten Championship Game undefeated.Meanwhile, after Texas defeated Texas A&M for the second consecutive year, no SEC team will enter its conference title game unbeaten. The SEC’s former top-ranked team, Texas A&M, didn’t even qualify for the championship, and the Texas squad that beat the Aggies also lost to Ohio State earlier this season. For the last two seasons, the national champion has emerged from "The Game," where it just means more. In that same span, the SEC hasn’t even sent a team to the title game.It wouldn’t shock anyone if Ohio State and Indiana face off not once but twice in the postseason. What remains to be seen is […]

Argentinec Messi k tomu přispěl dvěma góly i asistencemi. V semifinále konference pak tým smetl Cincinnati 4:0, přičemž Messi znovu zářil, když otevřel skóre a poté přidal tři asistence.Proti New Yorku City si Messi sice připsal „pouze“ asistenci, přesto Miami do finále Východní konference vletělo jako uragán. Útočník Tadeo Allende dvěma zásahy během prvních 23 minut naprosto rozbil obranu New Yorku.
