Güler erzählt von Begegnung mit Real-Legende – „Sie schauten mich an und sagten: Arda, Du bist so dumm!“

Im Star-Ensemble von Real Madrid hat es Arda Güler (20) nicht leicht, seinen Platz zu finden. Doch das türkische Superjuwel kommt unter Trainer Carlo Ancelotti (65) in dieser Saison auf immer mehr Spielzeit.

In 38 Pflichtspielen kam Güler zum Einsatz (fünf Tore, neun Assists), stand immerhin 14-mal in der Startelf. In der ersten Saison nach seinem 24-Mio-Wechsel im Sommer 2023 von Fenerbahce waren es noch 13 Einsätze (fünfmal Startelf) gewesen.

Güler hat in dieser Saison einen großen Schritt nach vorn gemacht. In einem Beitrag für das Portal „The Player’s Tribune“ blickt er auf seine bisherige Zeit bei den Königlichen zurück – und erinnert sich dabei auch eine – eher peinliche – Begegnung mit Real-Legende Raúl (47).

Güler sagt: „Ancelotti war von Beginn an eine Art Vater für mich. Es war lustig, denn er scherzte ständig mit mir, und ich war immer noch ein Kind, das mit weit aufgerissenen Augen den größten Klub der Welt zu verstehen versuchte. Ich wusste nie genau, wann er etwas ernst meinte. Eines Tages sagte Ancelotti: ‚Raúl ist der Trainer von Castilla (der zweiten Mannschaft von Real, d.Red). Wenn Du ihn siehst, sag ihm Hallo. Du weißt, wer Raúl ist, oder?‘ Natürlich wusste ich, wer Raúl ist. Er war der Kapitän, Top-Scorer, er ist eine lebende Legende.“

Ancelotti sagt: ‘Arda, das ist Raúl.‘ Aber wenn man eine dieser Legenden zum ersten Mal in Wirklichkeit sieht, fühlt sich das surreal an. Es fühlt sich fake an. Ich bin zu jung, um Raúl noch für Real spielen gesehen zu haben. Ich habe ihn nur auf YouTube gesehen.“

Und so nahm das „Unheil“ für Güler seinen Lauf. Der türkische Offensivspieler fährt fort: „Ancelotti lachte, und ich dachte: Nein, er legt mich schon wieder rein. Und so sagte ich: ‚Kommen Sie, Mister, tut mir leid, aber das ist nicht Raúl.‘ Ich hatte erwartet, dass Ancelotti lachen würde und sagen würde: ‚Gut erkannt.‘ Aber er sah mich nur mit einem ausdruckslosen Blick an und sagte: ‚Was meinst Du damit, dass das nicht Raúl ist?‘ Dann drehte sich Raúl mir zu und sagte: ‚Ich bin Raúl Gonzalez, schön, Dich kennenzulernen.‘ Und ich entgegnete: ‚Nein, das bist Du nicht, komm schon.‘“

Das sei so noch für eine gewisse Zeit weitergegangen, bis Ancelotti den damaligen Real-Spieler Toni Kroos zu sich gerufen habe. Güler: „(Ancelotti fragte) ‚Toni, ist das Raúl?‘ ‚Wie bitte? Natürlich!‘ Ich glaubte es immer noch nicht. Das musste ein riesiger Scherz sein, und ich wollte nicht darauf reinfallen. Dann rief er Modric zu: ‚Luka, ist das Raúl?‘ ‚Natürlich ist das Raúl!‘ Jetzt bekam ich langsam Angst. (…) Dann haben sie angefangen, mir Bilder auf ihren Telefonen zu zeigen. Am Ende gab ich mich geschlagen und sagt, ‚Okay, es tut mir leid. Du bist wirklich Raúl, Schön, Sie kennenzulernen.‘ Jeder hat über den Jungen aus der Türkei gelacht. Auch Mister Ancelotti.“

Als Arda Güler am Abend nach Hause kam, erzählte er seiner Familie von dem Vorfall: „Sie schauten mich an und sagten: Arda, Du bist so dumm!“ Das war meine erste Woche bei Real Madrid …“
