Rafaela Silva (categoria até 63kg) e Luana Carvalho (até 70kg) conquistaram a medalha de bronze, neste sábado, no Grand Slam de Judô de Astana, no Casaquistão. Os pódios foram os primeiros das duas no Circuito Mundial: para Rafaela, em nova categoria de peso, e para Luana, na classe Sênior.
As mulheres continuam com 100% dos pódios disputados. No primeiro dia de competição, na sexta-feira, Natasha Ferreira (até 48kg), Jéssica Pereira (até 52kg) e Shirlen Nascimento (até 57kg) também haviam garantido o bronze para o Brasil.
Na categoria até 63kg, Rafaela Silva derrotou a polonesa Natalia Kropska. A campeã olímpica e bicampeã mundial, que recentemente subiu de categoria, dominou o combate decisivo e venceu por ippon, em imobilização, após desistência da rival. A judoca carioca de 33 anos havia vencido suas três lutas nas preliminares para avançar às finais.
A brasileira conquistou duas vezes o Mundial (2012 e 2022) e foi medalhista de ouro na Rio-2016 e de bronze em Paris-2024, entre outras conquistas, competindo no peso abaixo de 57 kg. Ela já havia levado o bronze no Campeonato Pan-Americano e da Oceania.
Após conquistar o bronze por equipes em Paris-2024, Rafaela Silva abandonou a categoria até 57 kg e partiu do zero no novo peso, com a necessidade de somar pontos e chegar entre as cem primeiras do ranking para disputar o Campeonato Mundial de judô, em junho deste ano.
Na categoria até 70kg, Luana Carvalho também chegou à disputa do bronze, contra a italiana Martina Esposito, e venceu por ippon nos segundos finais da luta, quando foi para o tudo ou nada – perdia por 2 yukos.
A judoca de 23 anos estreou com vitória, mas perdeu para a italiana Giorgia Stangherlin, que ficou com o ouro, nas quartas de final. A brasileira desmaiou no dojô ao ser estrangulada nesta luta e recebeu atendimento médico. Mas se recuperou na repescagem quando venceu por um ippon.
Outros três brasileiros foram ao tatame na capital do Casaquistão neste sábado. Nauana Silva (até 63kg), Gabriel Falcão e Luan Almeida, ambos até 81kg, não avançaram para as finais.
O Brasil encerra sua participação no Grand Slam de Astana neste domingo, com seis representantes: Beatriz Freitas e Karol Gimenes buscam a medalha na categoria até 78kg, enquanto a campeã olímpica Beatriz Souza retorna ao circuito (+78kg) já nas quartas de final.
No masculino, vão ao tatame Giovani Ferreira e Marcelo Fronckowiak (até 90kg) e Rafael Buzacarini (acima de 100kg).
