It’s been happening for a while now, but Kanye West seems to lose more high-profile supporters with each passing day. It’s no surprise given that he refuses to stay quiet, constantly spewing hateful nonsense on the Internet. His hurtful rants have alienated him from his children, as Kim Kardashian isn’t willing to expose them to his behavior.
While West still has fans, public figures no longer want to align themselves with him. One of those people is his former colleague, John Legend. He recently spoke about West in an interview with The Sunday Times and gave his thoughts on the situation. In the interview, Legend outlined how West helped him early in his career. Back then, there were no traces of the current Kanye.

He had so much optimism, so much creativity. It does feel sad, sometimes shocking, to see where he is now… I didn’t see a hint of what we’re seeing now, his obsessions with antisemitism, anti-blackness, and it is sad to see his devolution. I don’t think we’re qualified to psychoanalyse him, but after his mother passed in 2007 there was definitely a difference. His descent started then and seems to have accelerated recently.
How did John Legend and Kanye West meet?

Back in 2004, when West founded his record label GOOD Music, Legend became the first artist to sign with the label – along with Common. Legend knew West since 2001, and the two ended up having a long professional relationship, before he left GOOD Music in 2016. West had met Legend through record producer and songwriter Devo Harris. Legend then began co-writing and delivering hooks for West.
Legend released six albums under GOOD Music before signing with Columbia Records. West helped Legend become who he is today, but there comes a certain point where gratitude isn’t enough to excuse such erratic behavior.
