Jared Goff celebrated Christen Harper, on Mother’s Day, as the Detroit Lions’ star quarterback and his wife prepare to become parents ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 NFL season.
The couple married in July 2024 and made the announcement that they’re expecting in February, but the news of the progression has largely been kept secretive from social media’s eyes.
For example, no photos have popped up on Instagram, but the pair are clearly excited all the same and chose to enjoy Mother’s Day together as the 30-year-old football ace posted a loving tribute to his beau.
“Happy Mother’s Day to this soon-to-be momma!! I love you and can’t wait to watch you become the best mom,” Jared posted to Instagram Stories on Sunday, with a photo of the pair ready for a night out as they share a kiss.

The NFL ace is in black pants and a black t-shirt, whilst his wife is in a zebra-print full-body dress, with her curly hair flowing down beside her right shoulder. Both parents’ hands are holding her baby bump, including their child in the moment.
Christen isn’t letting pregnancy get the better of her career, however. The model from Los Angeles appears in the Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit catalogue for 2025, posing teasingly in a range of outfits showing what Jared comes home to after an NFL game.
“I actually shot Sports Illustrated this year (when) I was 18 weeks pregnant,” Harper told the Sunday Sports Club. “I was really at this weird time, where I couldn’t really s**k it in anymore but also when I tried to stick it out, like, it wasn’t a real belly.
“I was bulking for my shoot; it was crazy. It’ll be so fun to look back on those images because she was in there. That shoot, I will say, was the most challenging ’cause I was in this weird transition.
“I didn’t fully feel like myself, but I didn’t have this bump yet that I was super proud of and could see her and feel her.”
Lions given long odds for Super Bowl glory
For Goff, he has one eye on his wife and one eye on Ford Field as he aims to avenge the Detroit Lions’ disappointing run in the 2024/25 NFL season, as they crashed out of the NFC Divisional game to the Washington Commanders.
Despite winning the NFC North for the first time in franchise history with a 15-2 record, they had no response to Jayden Daniels in their first game of the Playoffs. Surrendering 28 points in the second quarter alone, they were dealt a crushing 45-31 loss.
It concluded a season full of hope for the team from Motown and they now bid to finally get their hands on the Super Bowl’s illustrious Lombardi Trophy for the first time ever next season.
However, bookmakers aren’t too convinced Goff has what it takes. Priced at +1000 to go all the way, they are fifth favourites behind the Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens as per Detroit Jock City.
