Amorim beschreibt im Anschluss an die Pleite die Situation mit drastischen Worten: „Wir haben diese Angst nicht mehr, und das ist das Gefährlichste, was ein großer Verein haben kann. (…) Ich denke, das ist besorgniserregend. Es ist nicht die Schuld der Spieler. Es ist meine Schuld, ich bin verantwortlich.“
Und weiter: „Wenn wir das nicht schnell ändern können, sollten wir unseren Platz an andere Personen vergeben.“
Ist die Zeit des Portugiesen im Sommer schon wieder Geschichte?
Fakt ist: seit dem Trainerwechsel von Ten Hag zu Amorim hat sich beim englischen Rekordmeister (20 Titel, gleichauf mit Liverpool) nichts zum Guten gewendet. Der Holländer holte 1,22 Punkte pro Spiel in der Liga, Amorim nur 0,96. Einziger Lichtblick: der Einzug ins Finale der Europa League (21. Mai, 21 Uhr/RTL und im Live-Ticker bei bild.de). Dort geht es gegen den anderen englischen Krisenklub Tottenham.
Der Portugiese, der erst im November das Traineramt übernahm, stellte klar, dass auch der Gewinn der Europa League, die Saison nicht rettet. „Für mich spielt es keine Rolle, ob wir die Europa League gewinnen, denn die Probleme sind viel größer als das.“
Die große Frage ist: bekommt er auch in der kommenden Saison die Chance, jene Probleme zu lösen …

The NBA has been flirting with expansion for years now, but Adam Silver says a decision is coming in 2026.The NBA commissioner told reporters Tuesday before the NBA Cup championship game the league will make a "determination" about domestic expansion next year.
