João Palhinha erlebt eine durchwachsene Saison beim FC Bayern München. In der Bundesliga kommt er bisher auf 17 Einsätze – aber nur drei davon waren über 90 Minuten. Das Problem: Der Portugiese passt nicht wirklich in das System von München-Coach Vincent Kompany.
Dabei war der Mittelfeldstar auf ausdrücklichen Wunsch von Ex-Bayern-Trainer Thomas Tuchel im Sommer 2024 geholt worden, sollte als „Holding Six“ die Fäden im Mittelfeld ziehen. Doch Tuchel musste gehen – und damit auch der größte Fan von Palhinha.

Palhinha kam für eine Ablösesumme von 50 Millionen Euro aus der Premier League vom FC Fulham. Sein Vertrag beim frisch gebackenen deutschen Meister läuft noch bis 2028. Aber: Er gilt als Verkaufskandidat für diesen Transfer-Sommer. Die 50 Mio. Euro Ablöse wollen die Bayern wieder einnehmen. Vor allem in England genießt Palhinha immer noch einen guten Ruf.

Auch in der kommenden Saison kann 29-Jährige nicht darauf hoffen, mehr Einsatzzeiten zu bekommen. Denn im Mittelfeld ist der FC Bayern mit Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic und Leon Goretzka bestens besetzt, die Konkurrenz ist riesig. Ein im November bei der Nationalmannschaft erlittener Muskelbündelriss in den Adduktoren warf Palhinha zusätzlich zurück. Palhinha erklärt: „Das war nicht einfach. Meine Verletzung hat mir nicht geholfen. Und als ich zurückkam, hat Leon (Goretzka; d. Red) gut gespielt, sodass es nicht einfach war, Spielminuten zu bekommen.“
„Keine leichte Zeit“ sei das gewesen, räumte er ein. „Um ehrlich zu sein, war diese Saison auf persönlicher Ebene eine der schwersten, wenn nicht sogar die schwerste meiner bisherigen Karriere.“ Jetzt will er um seinen Platz bei den Bayern kämpfen: „Ich werde alles tun, um meinen Wert zu beweisen.“
