Die TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, aktuell Tabellendritter der Liga, hat einem Spieler, dessen Rückkehr auf die Platte noch in den Sternen steht, einen neuen Vertrag gegeben.

Handball-Topklub verlängert mit Verletztem
Der Schwede Jonathan Edvardsson (28) steckt gerade in der Rehabilitation. Nach einem Riss des Brustmuskels musste der Nationalspieler operiert werden, sein Vertrag wäre am 30. Juni ausgelaufen. Jetzt hat „Eddy“ ein neues Arbeitspapier bis zum 30. Juni 2026 unterschrieben.
„Es ist eine große Freude für uns, dass mit Jonathan eine Identifikationsfigur weiterhin Teil unseres Vereins bleibt“, sagt Hannover-Burgdorfs Sportchef Sven-Sören Christophersen (40). „Mit seiner unermüdlichen Hingabe und seinem außergewöhnlichen Einsatz hat er sich über die Jahre nicht nur auf dem Spielfeld, sondern auch in den Herzen der Fans, einen Platz erobert. Wir freuen uns auf seine Rückkehr nach der Reha und sind überzeugt, ihn dann wieder in voller Stärke auf dem Spielfeld zu erleben.“

Wir befinden uns auf einem sehr guten Weg und die tägliche Arbeit mit der Mannschaft, gemeinsam weiter an unseren Zielen zu arbeiten, macht mir großen Spaß. Ich setze alles daran, möglichst bald wieder auf dem Spielfeld zu stehen.“
Trainer Christian Prokop (46) freut sich auf Edvardssons Rückkehr: „Wir sind sehr glücklich, dass Jonathan mindestens ein weiteres Jahr bei uns spielen wird. Er ist extrem schwer zu verteidigen, reißt immer wieder Lücken für seine Mitspieler und macht sie unter anderem dadurch stärker. Zudem ist ,Eddi‘ ein charakterstarker Spieler, der sehr viel Wertschätzung in unserem Team und Club genießt.“
Edvardsson kam im Sommer 2021 vom schwedischen Klub IK Sävehof nach Niedersachsen. Mit Schweden wurde er 2022 Europameister, 2024 wurde er EM-Dritter und 2021 Vizeweltmeister.
