Justin Bieber’s increasingly erratic behavior has drawn fresh scrutiny after the pop star appeared to showcase drug use in a series of images, in a bizarre week online for the Canadian.
The 31-year-old singer shared an Instagram carousel on Thursday, with the first image showing him smiling while seated in an armchair, holding a large glass bong, something people feel isn’t appropriate considering his platform as a role model.

Wearing a bright orange hoodie, grey sweatpants, and a pink beanie, Bieber captioned the post with no words, whilst other images featured him recording music, holding what appeared to be a joint or cigarette, and enveloped in a thick cloud of smoke, obscuring his face entirely.
This public display comes after Justin‘s representative denied “harmful” rumors regarding his drug use earlier this year. Despite the denial, the singer has repeatedly been seen consuming marijuana, raising doubts about the statement’s credibility.

On Tuesday, Bieber stirred more attention when he admitted to copying his wife’s Rhode lip gloss-carrying phone case design to create a blunt-holder case as they joked with each other.
“I’ll have to pay her a fee if she even approves me to make this,” Justin stated on Instagram.
Hailey responded playfully: “I’ll think about it!”

While the couple has attempted to maintain a united image as evidenced by Justin’s enthusiastic praise of Hailey’s 2025 Met Gala appearance, their social media posts paint a more complicated picture.
The couple, who married in 2018 and renewed their vows in 2024, recently welcomed their first child, Jack Blues, in August yet Hailey attended the high-profile event alone, further fueling speculation regarding the state of their relationship.
Questions about Justin‘s mental health, finances, and support system continue to mount and adding to the confusion was when Bieber uploaded a bizarre 31-second Instagram video featuring a distorted face filter.
The clip shows him on a plane reflecting on childhood fishing trips and values like loyalty, integrity, and faith; and followed a perceived disrespectful comment me made on Mother’s Day.
“Love u moms but mother’s day sucks a*s”, Bieber posted, which has sparked concern among fans and critics alike as some interpreted the remark as disrespectful toward Hailey, celebrating her first Mother’s Day on May 11.
Justin and Hailey first met in 2009 as the Canadian was beginning to rise to pop music fame, and they remained friendly for several years, with occasional public appearances together.
Then in December 2015-January 2016 they had a brief fling around the time he was dating Selena Gomez, before they decided to get together again in 2018 and they’ve remained together since. They got officially married in 2019 in California and had their first child in 2024.
