Wenn die Spielzeiten in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga, der 2. Liga und der beiden Bundesligen der Frauen beendet sind, geht es für die Junioren-Teams des Deutschen Handballbundes (DHB) erst so richtig los.
Im Sommer steigen vier große Turniere mit Beteiligung deutscher Nationalmannschaften. Unter anderem will die männliche U21 ihren Weltmeister-Titel von 2023 verteidigen.

Handball-Junioren im Turnier-Stress
Den Anfang machen Bundestrainer Martin Heuberger (60) und seine U21-Spieler vom 18. bis 29. Juni bei der Weltmeisterschaft in Kielce (Polen). Die DHB-Auswahl ist der Titelverteidiger und muss in Vorrundengruppe G gegen Tunesien, Serbien und die Schweiz antreten.
Zweites Turnier mit deutscher Beteiligung ist die U19-Europameisterschaft der Juniorinnen vom 9. bis 20. Juli in Podgorica (Montenegro). Vorrunden-Gegner in Gruppe D sind Rumänien, Spanien und die Färöer Inseln.
[–>Überstehen die Spielerinnen von Bundestrainer Christopher Nordmeyer (57) diese anspruchsvolle Gruppe, ist ihnen ein großer Erfolg bei dem Turnier zuzutrauen.
Montenegro ist auch Schauplatz der Europameisterschaft der U17-Juniorinnen. Die DHB-Auswahl hat es in der Vorrunde in Gruppe B mit Portugal, Nordmazedonien und der Slowakei zu tun.
Die männliche U19 des DHB muss bei der Weltmeisterschaft in Ägypten (6. bis 17. August) antreten. Die Kontrahenten in Vorrundengruppe E sind die Färöer Inseln, Uruguay und Slowenien.
