Everything seemed to indicate that the war between Apple and Epic Games was finally over. As most people will know, the Cupertino-based company and the video game company had been involved in a legal dispute for several years caused by Fortnite and the commissions that the App Store took from payments made in the battle royale.
It all started because Epic Games, seeking to bypass those fees that they considered excessive, sought several ways for purchases to be made outside the App Store, something that did not work because Apple continued to charge them the same. This, according to the judge in the case, has meant a violation of the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, which has led to the video game company being vindicated and Apple being forced to stop these practices

Apple blocks Fortnite from the App Store
When it seemed that the soap opera was finally over and that the winner of this war was Epic Games, a new episode has opened. And, as reported by the official ‘X’ account of Fortnite, Apple has decided to block the video game from its App Store, thus preventing millions of players from downloading it and playing on their mobile devices

The thing does not stop here, as in addition to not allowing the arrival of Fortnite to the App Store, they have also blocked downloads from Epic Games’ own website. This means that they have made the game even disappear from a third-party site, something that we will see how it ends legally, as it could cause even more problems for Apple
What is clear is that Apple has not been at all satisfied with the final ruling and does not want to take this hard blow that it has suffered. This is a ‘tantrum’ that could prove costly, as Epic Games could go back to court and this could lead to a new legal conflict in which the bitten apple company does not have much chance of winning.
