Edmundo demonstrou confiança ao projetar o desempenho do Palmeiras no Mundial. Embalando de vez em 2025, o time de Abel Ferreira, segundo o ex-atacante, será o dono da melhor campanha entre os representantes do Brasil. Presente no Grupo A, ao lado de Inter Miami, Al-Ahly e Porto, o Verdão tem grandes chances de classificação e também pode sonhar com a liderança da chave.
“Eu acredito que o Palmeiras vai fazer, entre os times brasileiros, a melhor campanha no Mundial. Não sei como vão chegar os times europeus nos Estados Unidos com temperaturas altíssimas, mas eu acredito que, dos brasileiros, o Palmeiras é quem deve fazer a melhor campanha.”, disse Edmundo, em live no canal Mundo Ed.
Bastante otimista, Edmundo avalia que o Palmeiras é favorito no Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil e Libertadores. Como também é torcedor do Vasco, o ‘Animal’ vive um misto de emoções, já que o clube paulista atravessa uma situação totalmente oposta em relação ao Cruz-Maltino.
“Eu tenho a sorte de torcer para dois times. Torço para o Vasco e Palmeiras, pela história que eu construí nessas equipes. O Palmeiras é favorito a todos os títulos. Não sei se ele vai conquistar todos os títulos, mas é favorito a todos os títulos.”, externou.

Abrindo os cofres em 2025, o Palmeiras decidiu contratar o jogador mais caro da história ao viabilizar o retorno de Vitor Roque. Diante do momento extraordinário dentro e fora dos gramados, Edmundo não tem dúvidas sobre o maior time do Brasil na atualidade.
“O Palmeiras é sem dúvidas nenhuma, um dos maiores times do Brasil. É, com certeza, o maior time do Brasil. Não à toa, gastou nessa janela cerca de R$ 440 milhões em contratações.”, afirmou.
Assim como Edmundo, Denílson aposta que o Palmeiras deve superar Flamengo, Fluminense e Botafogo no Mundial. Embora os adversários europeus reservem grandes dificuldades, o comentarista prevê o trabalho de Abel Ferreira sendo decisivo.
“É diferente (jogos contra europeus), mas a experiência do Abel e junto com esses jogadores, o Palmeiras pode ser o melhor time brasileiro nesse Mundial.”, opinou Denílson, no Globo Esporte.
