Ten years after one of the most iconic Super Bowl moments in NFL history pitted them against each other, Tom Brady and Pete Carroll have now joined forces, working toward a shared vision in the Las Vegas Raiders‘ front office and coaching staff. In a move few saw coming, the seven-time Super Bowl champion and the former Seahawks head coach are ushering in a new era for a franchise long stuck in neutral.
Brady, who now wields significant influence in the Raiders‘ front office, was instrumental in shaping the team’s direction this offseason.
That included the hiring of Carroll, who returns to coaching following his departure from Seattle, and the acquisition of quarterback Geno Smith via trade-reuniting Carroll with his former Seahawks signal-caller.
The Raiders also added Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty through the draft, further strengthening a backfield expected to be central to Las Vegas’ retooled offensive attack. After years of instability under center, the combination of Carroll‘s coaching, Brady‘s winning DNA, and an improved roster suggests the Silver and Black may finally be turning the corner.

Appearing on Brock & Salt, Carroll spoke openly about how Brady‘s involvement was a deciding factor in his decision to take the Raiders job.
“When Tom came on board here, it changed my outlook to come here,” Carroll said.
“I thought that would be one of the great opportunities of all time, to have his presence. His presence is strong, big factor with John Spytek as well. … We’re trying to infuse Tom’s mentality. We’re trying to bring it into the organization because it’s so good, so unique, so one of a kind. I think it helps us have the opportunity to have a one of a kind franchise.”
Carroll‘s words carry weight, especially considering the high regard in which he’s held for his team-building philosophy and infectious culture. Now, paired with Brady‘s competitive fire and long-term vision, the Raiders may finally have the leadership alignment necessary to reverse their fortunes.
