Pleite gegen Dänemark – WM-Drama! Deutschland raus nach Penalty-Schießen

Das war nichts für schwache Nerven!

Deutschland ist bei der Eishockey-WM nach einem dramatischen Spiel gegen Gastgeber Dänemark ausgeschieden. Das Team unterlag mit 0:2 im Penaltyschießen. Nach der regulären Spielzeit hatte es 1:1 gestanden.

Es ist das erwartet schwere Spiel gegen die Dänen. Und zunächst läuft bei unseren Jungs nicht viel zusammen. Wenige Kombinationen, kein flüssiges Spiel. Überraschung bei der Aufstellung: Trainer Harry Kreis (66) lässt Marcel Noebels (33, Berlin) als 13. Stürmer zunächst auf der Ersatzbank schmoren. Dafür rückt Yasin Ehliz (32, München) wieder in die Reihe neben Leo Pföderl (31, Berlin) und Josh Samanski (23, Straubing). Erst in der 14. Minute kommt der Berliner dann zu einem Kurzeinsatz. Im ersten Drittel nur knapp über eine Minute Eiszeit für den Vizeweltmeister von 2023. Unverständlich!

Die Dänen anfangs viel gefährlicher mit 14:5 Torschüssen. Wir können uns bei Torwart Philipp Grubauer (33, Seattle) bedanken, dass es zur ersten Pause noch 0:0 steht. Der NHL-Star mit Glanzparaden.

Auch im Mitteldrittel Marcel Noebels zunächst wieder nur auf der Ersatzbank.

Und dann taucht der Berliner in der ersten Sturmformation wieder auf (28.). Später rückt Dominik Kahun (32, Lausanne) in die erste Reihe.

Auf alle Fälle ist jetzt das DEB-Team besser im Spiel, obwohl die Partie spielerisch nicht auf allerhöchstem Niveau steht. Doch dann Jubel auf der deutschen Spielerbank und bei den etwa 500 deutschen Fans in der Arena.

Geibel-Führung gleicht Ehlers aus

WM-Debütant Korbinian Geibel (22) von Meister Eisbären Berlin zieht 45 Sekunden vor Drittelende scharf ab und drin das Ding – 1:0. Sein überhaupt erste Länderspieltor und sooo ein wichtiges. Das Viertelfinale ist jetzt greifbar.

Doch der knappe Vorsprung hält nicht. Zehn Minuten vor Schluss versenkt NHL-Star Nikolaj Ehlers (Winnipeg) den Puck zum 1:1 im Kasten von Grubauer. In der 52. Minute muss auch noch Marc Michaelis (29, Mannheim) verletzt raus. Blut auf dem Eis.

Penalty-Schießen entscheidet

Nach dem Ausgleich wieder der Gastgeber dieser WM am Drücker, aber wir haben Grubauer in der Kiste. Er hält weiter fehlerfrei. So geht es in die Verlängerung. Jeweils drei Spieler auf dem Eis. Chancen auf beiden Seiten. Es darf weiter gezittert werden. Auch die Verlängerung bringt kein weiteres Tor. Es muss das Penalty-Schießen die Entscheidung bringen. Und da hatten die Dänen die besseren Nerven.
