The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into a season that has fans buzzing with excitement, and with Tom Brady pulling strings behind the scenes as a key decision-maker, they’ll launch Week 1 in a matchup that carries immense significance for both the team and their minority investor.

This marks a new era for the Silver and Black, with John Spytek and Pete Carroll as pivotal figures, serving as the third general manager and head coach duo in the past three years.
A new chapter begins, and the Raiders are poised to start it in the best way possible.

Delivering a strong first step in Week 1 of the NFL season is critical, and according to Ralph Vacchiano of FOX Sports, the organization views this game as one of their most important, despite facing tough opponents like the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys later in the schedule.
The Raiders will face off against the New England Patriots in their season opener.
“No, this isn’t going to be circled on the calendars of the fans of either team – or fans of any other teams for that matter. After all, the two teams combined to go 8-26 last season. But you know who has it circled? Former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who is now a part-owner of the Raiders,” Vacchiano said.
“He may be busy with a FOX Sports game that week, but you know he’ll have an eye on his current team going up against his old one. This one is probably circled by any Raiders leftover from the Josh McDaniels era. He’s now the Patriots‘ offensive coordinator.”
McDaniels posted a 9-16 record as Raiders head coach, leaving the team in a rut that they’re still working to climb out of years later.
Against this backdrop, Week 1 offers a golden opportunity to move past recent mistakes. Since Brady was approved as a minority owner midway through last season, this will be the first season opener with him involved in the franchise, as well as the first under Spytek and Carroll’s leadership.
Following a successful NFL Draft, the Raiders aim to face Brady‘s former team to boost their confidence and prove that their recent decisions translate into success in an official game.
