Der australische Trainer hat Tottenham Hotspur am Mittwoch durch ein 1:0 gegen Manchester United im Finale der Europa League zum ersten Titel seit 17 Jahren geführt – und diesen praktisch vorhergesagt.

Seine Titel-Prophezeiung ist nun tatsächlich eingetreten. Blieb der australische Coach mit griechischen Wurzeln in seiner ersten Saison bei den Spurs noch titellos, konnte er nun im zweiten Jahr die Europa-League-Trophäe in die Höhe stemmen.

Für die Spurs und Postecoglou war es ein versöhnlicher Abschluss einer ansonsten völlig verkorksten Saison. In der Premier League nur auf einem enttäuschenden Platz 17, löste der Klub durch den Endspiel-Triumph das Ticket für die nächste Champions-League-Saison. Das spült Tottenham mehr als 100 Millionen Euro in die Kassen.
