Real Madrids neuem Coach Xabi Alonso gefällt diese Neuigkeit offenbar gar nicht. Laut einem Bericht des spanischen Portals „Defensa Central“ soll er eine direkte Nachricht an Frimpong geschickt haben!
[–>Darin schrieb Alonso demnach: „Es ärgert mich, dass wir immer noch nicht wieder zusammen (bei einem Verein) sind, aber du verdienst es, in einer großartigen Mannschaft zu spielen, und das ist Liverpool.“
Alonso gibt seine Rolle als Bayer-Coach auf und löst Carlo Ancelotti (65) bei den Königlichen ab – laut „Defensa Central“ hatte der Spanier Frimpong auf die Transfer-Liste des La-Liga-Klubs geschrieben. Aber: Madrid hat sich bereits die Dienste von Alexander-Arnold (26) gesichert – deshalb soll Präsident Florentino Pérez die Option verworfen haben.

Alexander-Arnold hat angekündigt, dass er Liverpool am Ende der Saison verlassen wird. Auf der Vereinswebsite hatte der Rechtsverteidiger erklärt, es sei „keine leichte Entscheidung“ gewesen, aber er brauche „eine neue Herausforderung“ – als „Spieler und als Mensch“. Der Wechsel zu Real Madrid ist zwar noch nicht offiziell, aber nur die wenigsten zweifeln noch an Alexander-Arnolds neuer Wirkungsstätte.
Frimpong wird also aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach nach Anfield wechseln, um dort wiederum den englischen Rechtsverteidiger zu ersetzen, heißt es. Der niederländische Meister-Trainer Arne Slot (46) hält seit Wochen Kontakt zu seinem Landsmann.
