Žokej Myška zvolil netradiční taktiku, když devítiletého ryzáka nechal cválat uprostřed pole a Sexy Lord se teprve v závěru začal posouvat kupředu. Na poslední proutěné překážce byl ještě pátý, ale mohutným finišem předčil vedoucí Ztracenku o půl délky. Třetí proběhl cílem Zarate.
Myška se přitom v úvodu dostihového odpoledne zranil a dlouho nebylo jasné, zda bude moci pokračovat. „Sexy Lord v minulosti nechtěl chodit přes koně. A teď jde znovu a bojuje. Dozrál. Říkala jsem si, ať je aspoň třetí. Ale vím, jaký má speed (rychlost) na konci. Jestli bude vše v pořádku, půjde ještě třetí kvalifikaci,“ uvedla v tiskové zprávě trenérka vítězného koně Martina Růžičková.
