Britney Spears is once again at the center of public attention following a troubling incident on a charter flight from Cabo San Lucas to Los Angeles that saw her cautioned by authorities.
The 43-year-old pop icon reportedly caused significant disruption during the flight, leading to her being met by authorities upon landing at LAX in California.
As per TMZ, multiple sources close to the matter confirmed that the singer, accompanied by her security team, began drinking mid-flight. The situation escalated when Spears pulled out a cigarette and lit it inside the cabin-an act strictly prohibited by federal aviation regulations.
Flight attendants quickly intervened and ordered her to extinguish the cigarette, which she did, though not without resistance as reports describe her behavior as “difficult” throughout the flight.

Upon landing in Los Angeles, Spears was met by airport officials and U.S. Customs personnel issued a formal warning regarding her conduct. No arrest was made, and she was allowed to leave freely following the encounter.
JSX, the public charter service that operated the flight, declined to comment on the alleged events, offering no further details about the situation, their internal response or how it impacted staff.
Is Britney Spears’ mental health rocky again?
The incident has reignited ongoing concerns about Spears’ mental health and public behavior as her erratic conduct has raised questions about whether the legal decision to end her court-ordered conservatorship was in her best interest.
Spears‘ social media presence, often characterized by unpredictable posts and videos, has also contributed to public unease since the end of the injunction in 2021 that handed her freedom again.
“Several people in Britney‘s life are still grousing that she was let out of her conservatorship,” said one source told TMZ. “The judge went so Hollywood, ignoring all of the medical reports in front of her and just bent to the Free Britney people outside the courthouse.”
These remarks echo sentiments that have circulated in some circles since the legal battle concluded. While the #FreeBritney movement celebrated the victory of her personal freedom, others remain skeptical about her capacity to manage her health and responsibilities independently.
Spears called out by Bobby Brown
Separately, Spears found herself the subject of pointed criticism from fellow artist Bobby Brown, who revealed his disliking of her 2004 cover of his hit song My Prerogative.
Although Brown had initially agreed to the cover, he expressed deep regret over the decision and now appears as though he would have sooner denied the request, made by the star and producer Teddy Riley.
“It was so brutal I literally couldn’t take it,” Brown told the Club Shay Shay podcast. “I thought she’d elevate the track, not take a wrecking ball to it.”
