Falcons vs. 49ers live updates: NFL ‘Sunday Night Football’ score, prediction, odds and latest

Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers (-2)Psst. The 49ers were barely hanging on even before Fred Warner’s injury last week. Since Nick Bosa went down in Week 3, the 49ers’ pass rush ranks 30th in pressure rate (24 percent) and is tied for the fewest sacks in the league with two. That should allow Michael Penix Jr. plenty of time to find Drake London and Bijan Robinson; that is, when he is not handing the ball off to Robinson, the best running back in the league. The Falcons’ defense, on the other hand, is getting better every week, and we’re not worried about flying cross-country after an emotional win on Monday night. Atlanta won’t be flat again this season after that 30-0 Week 3 loss to the Panthers. Doesn’t matter if Brock Purdy and/or George Kittle are back. The pick: Falcons

NFL Week 7 scores and live updates: Dak Prescott leads Cowboys vs. Commanders, Colts rolling over Chargers, highlights, analysis and latest

The Broncos have entered halftime of their game against the Giants amid an almost stunning stretch of offensive futility. Denver had six empty possessions in the opening two quarters, including a turnover on downs inside the opponent 5-yard line, and left the field through a wall of jeers from the home crowd. The Broncos dating back to their 13-11 win against the New York Jets in Week 6 have produced a total of three points in their last 14 non-kneel-down possessions. Really, though, it's one net point since the Broncos committed a safety on one of those possessions. The problems have been varied. The Broncos are getting very little from their traditional running game. J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey have a combined 11 carries for 18 yards in the first half. The Giants are sitting on all of Denver's perimeter screen actions, […]

Max Verstappen wins United States Grand Prix to close gap on McLaren duo: Live updates and reaction

What a simply lovely weekend for Red Bull — and you could tell team principal Laurent Mekies was very excited about it all. Here he is, talking to Sky Sports:💬 “It’s probably our strongest weekend in a long while, on a burning hot track. Max kept increasing the gap through every session. A big well done to everyone back at base. “Everyone back at the factory, a thousand people, are working to extract that small part of the lap time in their hands, and it’s adding up. They are taking risks, they are pushing on both fronts — with next year’s car and this car, and they have been able to unlock so much.“And Max has been driving at at an incredible level. We have to admit we are witnessing something quite extraordinary.“The team knows what to do … on learning […]

How Harry Maguire’s late winner led Manchester United to famous win against Liverpool

It's quite refreshing to see a positively upbeat Amorim come out for the post-match interviews — we have become so used to seeing him dejected after these big matches. He was asked in his interview with Sky Sports whether this is his biggest win at United.💬 “I think so, but it doesn't mean a lot. It means a lot today, but not tomorrow, it's three points. But it's a good victory.“In key points, we had some luck but we fought for every ball. We lost our composure a little bit in the second half, but the spirit was there and that is the beginning of everything.“Sometimes you play more with the ball and sometimes without the ball, if you have the spirit then you can win any game.”

Mariners vs. Blue Jays live updates: Follow latest from today’s ALCS Game 6, including start time and predictions

Max Scherzer is going to be a Hall of Famer. But right now, he’s 41 years old, and he was so bad late in the season — a 9.00 ERA in his last six starts — that the Blue Jays didn’t even put him on their division series roster. In a longer series, though, the Blue Jays needed another starter, so they turned to the most accomplished pitcher on their roster. And for 5 2/3 innings he was, in some ways, his old self. Scherzer allowed two runs on three hits and the Blue Jays beat the Mariners 8-2 to even the series at two games apiece. Andrés Giménez drove in four runs, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered, and four Blue Jays relievers finished the game without allowing a run. Manager John Schneider almost pulling Scherzer in the fifth inning was […]
