Memphis Depay em ação pelo Corinthians (Rodrigo Coca/Ag. Corinthians)
O Corinthians está eliminado da Copa Sul-Americana de forma precoce, sem conseguir passar da fase de grupos, depois de perder por 1 a 0 para o Huracán (ARG). Com o empate entre América de Cali (COL) e Racing (URU), o clube paulista acabou ficou em terceiro lugar e deu adeus à competição continental. Essa já é a segunda eliminação do time em torneios da Conmebol em 2025. Em março, o time caiu na pré-Libertadores para o Barcelona (EQU).
No programa “Canelada”, da Jovem Pan, o comentarista Piperno fez duras críticas ao Alvinegro e aos seus jogadores, entendendo que foi uma derrota constrangedora. O jornalista apontou uma falta de esforço dos jogadores na derrota diante dos argentinos. “Foi uma coisa constrangedora demais para a reputação do Corinthians e para a reputação de quem estava em campo. Ninguém jogou nada e Ninguém se esforçou para fazer nada. O Corinthians parecia terra de Ninguém. O torcedor do Corinthians está envergonhado.”, opinou.
Corinthians priorizou a competição
Na sequência, Piperno ainda destaca que o técnico Dorival Júnior havia dado prioridade à Sul-Americana neste momento, tendo poupado jogadores no Brasileirão. Segundo ele, houve um erro em dar mais atenção à essa competição. E, com a eliminação na fase de grupos, ficou ainda pior a derrota. Na opinião dele, se tivesse entrado ontem com reservas, o vexame seria minimizado.
No Campeonato Brasileiro, o time não vem tão bem, mas também não luta contra o rebaixamento neste momento, como aconteceu quase toda a temporada passada. O time ocupa a oitava posição, com 14 pontos conquistados em 10 jogos. O próximo compromisso acontece no domingo (01), às 18h30, diante do Vitória, na Neo Química Arena. Este jogo é justamente contra o primeiro time do Z4, que tem cinco pontos a menos.
Ídolos também criticam jogadores
No programa “Uol News Esporte”, o comentarista Casagrande, ídolo do Timão, criticou a postura do atacante holandês Memphis Depay. Na opinião dele, o astro se mostra indiferente com as derrotas, não demonstrando descontentamento. Além disso, Casão citou uma queda de rendimento do jogador nesta temporada, principalmente nos jogos fora de casa. Ontem, ele entende que o craque praticamente não pegou na bola.
Já o ex-jogador Marcelinho Carioca, falou no programa “Quebrada FC” que alguns jogadores estavam bem abaixo na derrota para o Huracán, citando também o Depay. Mas, para ele, tiveram outros nomes que deixaram a desejar, como Raniele, Breno Bidon, Martínez e Talles Magno. O ídolo corintiano ainda disse que o Alvinegro não tem elenco para brigar nem por vaga na Libertadores, terminando no meio da tabela do Brasileirão.
