Arch Manning is on the cusp of becoming the next big thing in college football, and expectations are soaring as high as the Longhorns’ ambitions for a national title. Texas, the only program to make the College Football Playoff in each of the last two seasons, is counting on Manning to lead them to their first championship since winning the historic Rose Bowl against USC 41-38 in 2005. The Longhorns’ 2025 season kicks off with a daunting test against the defending national champions, Ohio State, in Columbus. The game will immediately reveal whether Manning is ready to lead the team to the playoffs and to the National Championship.
Despite seeing limited action last year-throwing for 939 yards and nine touchdowns and completing 67.8% of his passes in 10 games, including two starts in which he led Texas to decisive victories by a combined score of 86-16-Manning’s potential is undeniable. With coach Steve Sarkisian’s recent contract extension, the stakes are higher than ever, and Manning’s journey has only just begun and who knows if it will last just one season or he’ll play for another year as he’s already earning a good amount of money with his NIL value.
Manning Predicted to Outshine All Quarterbacks in 2025
Some College football insiders believe that Texas will have the upper hand in the upcoming season, especially in the quarterback competition between Arch Manning and Ohio State’s Julian Sayin. “Texas is going to have the edge because Arch knows what’s expected of him in Steve Sarkisian’s system,” RJ Young asserted on his YouTube show.
Manning’s two years in the program, during which he demonstrated superstar potential despite limited opportunities, have generated hype reminiscent of Vince Young’s era. Unlike his uncles, Peyton and Eli, who excelled in the pocket with quick decision-making and accuracy, Manning brings a different dynamic that Sarkisian has tailored to exploit. Though modest due to his backup role, Manning’s stats from last season hint at his potential. His 67.8% completion rate and nine touchdowns in 10 games suggest he’s ready to step up, especially when coupled with his dominant starts. Compare that to Julian Sayin‘s 84 passing yards and one touchdown in 2024, and the experience gap is evident.
While Sayin was impressive in Ohio State’s spring game, racking up 175 yards and three touchdown drives, he hasn’t matched Manning’s experience or fit with the Longhorns’ system. If Texas can overcome the initial challenges, including an away game against Florida, they could enter the Cotton Bowl against Oklahoma with an undefeated record, generating intense anticipation for their home game on October 11.
Arch Manning NIL Value Tops All NCAA Athletes
Arch Manning’s name, image, and likeness (NIL) value has been a central issue in his rise to prominence in college sports. According to On3 NIL100 tracker, Manning has an estimated NIL value of approximately $6.5 million, making him the highest-valued college athlete in the United States. This surpasses the second-highest value by $1.7 million, which belongs to Duke’s Cooper Flagg, projected to be the top NBA draft pick in 2025, with a value of $4.8 million. Within his own sport, Manning has a $2.2 million lead over Miami’s Carson Beck, who is worth $4.3 million.
From an early age, Manning has capitalized on his celebrity status, signing deals with brands such as Panini America, EA Sports, Red Bull, Uber, and most recently, Vuori. Given his earnings, which exceed many NFL rookie contracts, if things don’t go Manning’s way, whether due to injury or losing in the semifinals again, I don’t doubt he will return to Texas for another year if he doesn’t feel ready to advance.
